Fandom Invasions Week #12, Thursday period 3

When the class entered the Danger Shop today, it was made up to look like one of the common rooms. John was not obviously in sight, but there were six children rampaging around the place as unsupervised children are wont to do.

Near the sign in sheet was a small whiteboard with this written on it:

Not all weird events in Fandom are as deadly serious as what happened two weeks ago. Sometimes it's almost child play.

Like the situation we're looking at in this class. Every now and then something happens and certain people in Fandom's population find themselves experiencing a second childhood. In this case, it's your teachers.

Your assignment today is to deal with the young teachers present, look after them, keep them entertained and safe. Also, keep everything else safe from them. If they manage to blow up themselves, each other, you or the island, consider that a failing grade on this assignment.

Also? Tying them up or locking them in a closet is not allowed.

[ooc: up early for sp. please wait for OCD's up. Go have weetiny fun!]

Karal thought about that for a moment, then suggested, "A horse? Every princess should have a horse of her own, but it would have to go on paper so you could take it away with you."

"Can I have a pony?" She meant a picture, but if Karal could give her a real one, she'd be okay with that, too. "Brown, with spots."

"You can." Karal smiled as got up to fetch some paper and set it front of her. "How about if I draw the pony," he said as he sat down next to her and reached for the brown crayon, "and you give it the spots?"

Re: Vala

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay." She spent her time watching Karal and picking out the color for the spots. "Do you have a pony? Or a crown?"

"I have a horse named Trenor," Karal carefully drew the outline of a pony, reasonably well, and then glanced over and wrinkled his nose, "and I have a very silly hat, but it's not a crown. Thankfully I don't have to wear it all the time!"

"You don't like your hat? If I had a real crown I'd wear it all the time, even when I was sleeping," she chatted at him. "What's your silly hat look like?"

Re: Vala

[identity profile] vkandis-son.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Wouldn't that be uncomfortable?" he asked, then grinned and sketched out a truly ridiculous, very pointy hat, with a bell on top and tassels, and a great big sun on the front. It wasn't actually what his hat looked like, thank Vkandis. "There, I told you it was silly."

She giggled as she looked at the picture. "Nope. I'd have a special extra-sparkly sleeping crown."

"One that's not pointy?" Karal pushed the pony picture over so she could draw spots on it. "You know, I think that we might be able to make you a special extra-sparkly sleeping crown, if you'd like."

Re: Vala

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Okay!" Karal might be her favorite person ever. "Then can we see your horse? I bet I'm a good rider!"

Re: Vala

[identity profile] vkandis-son.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not sure if we'll be able to go and meet him," he said, quite sure that if they set foot outside the Danger Shop, Vala would disappear. "But we can make you a crown, and you can decorate it however you like. I'm sure there must be glitter here somewhere."

Re: Vala

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
"What's glitter?" She asked, wide-eyed.

Re: Vala

[identity profile] vkandis-son.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
"You don't know what glitter is!?" He put on a very shocked expression and stood up. "Wait right here, I'll go and find some."

Some nice, safe, non-boykissy inducing, ordinary glitter and, as it turned out, some glue. And scissors, and tape, and he set everything down in front of Vala apart from a bag of purple glitter. "This is glitter!"

Re: Vala

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Ooooooh," she said, properly impressed as she shoved her hand in to grab some. When she pulled her arm out, it was covered in purple glitter to the elbow and she had a small handful of the stuff.

After a second, she very carefully opened that hand, studied the glitter, and blew some in Karal's general direction.

Re: Vala

[identity profile] vkandis-son.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Surprised, he tried to duck out of the way, not wanting to be glittered. It would have been more effective if he hadn't been holding the an entire open bag of the stuff.

The bag of glitter slipped out of his hands, hit the ground, and sent a great billow of glitter into the air to settle on Karal.

Re: Vala

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Vala immediately started giggling, long and loud and hard enough to make her tip over.

Re: Vala

[identity profile] vkandis-son.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Karal groaned and immediately started trying to brush it off - which only made it worse - and ran a hand through his hair.

Which really wasn't very smart. "Yes, well, you need to be careful with glitter," he said weakly.

Re: Vala

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
"It's in your hair," she told him helpfully. "It makes the curls sparkly."

Re: Vala

[identity profile] vkandis-son.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
He pulled a curl down in front of his face and stared at, going a little bit cross-eyed in the attempt. "You're right, I do. Is sparkly a good thing?"

Re: Vala

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Uh huh," she beamed up at him, "Sparkly is always a good thing. Unless there isn't any sparkly, and then shiny's next."

Hey, a girl had to have priorities.

Re: Vala

[identity profile] vkandis-son.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Then I don't mind," he decided, smiling again as he sat down next to her, carefully ignoring the tiny puff of glitter as he did so. "Now, do you want to make your crown sparkly as well?"

Re: Vala

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Uh huh," she nodded vigorously, almost hitting herself in the face with her pigtails as she bounced as well. "I wanna make it verrrrrry sparkly. Because everyone knows sleeping crowns have to be extra sparkly so you can see them in your dreams."

Re: Vala

[identity profile] vkandis-son.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
"In that case, I suspect I will be visible in the dreams of people on other planets," he grumbled good-naturedly, and cut a piece of paper in half. "If you draw with glue on this, then you can cover it in all different colours of glitter, which should make it extra, extra sparkly."

Re: Vala

[identity profile] spacepiratevala.livejournal.com 2007-11-30 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
She took the bottle of glue and immediately started making designs with it on the half a piece of paper. Swirls and blobs and lines and other blobs that were supposed to be stars and lines going the other way and... "Are you a daddy?"

While brushing her hair out of the way, she wiped some glue onto her face using the sleeve of her shirt.
