Keeping Your Wits About You... [Monday 2nd Period 10-11] Class # 12

Wilson was waiting for his students this morning with a good natured smile on his face and a gingerbread latte in his hand. There was a spread of holiday yummies ranging from spice cakes to cookies and other things determined to add pounds to your waistline.

As everybody got settled, he set his coffee aside and shoved his hands in his pockets.

"Good morning everybody, I hope we all had a lovely weekend?"

"Okay, today we're going to tackle something that is both timely and which might actually be of practical use to you all in the coming month. It's called, Surviving the Holidays."

As he spoke the last three words, he wrote them across the whiteboard and then walked down to the projector he kept at the front of the class. There were some key points on the slide which Wilson carefully went over in his lecture.

Finals.
Going home for the holidays.
Remember That Excessive Christmas-ness Gets on Everyone's Nerves.
Don't Do Things That Make You Miserable.
Communicate Holiday Plans and Expectations Well in Advance.
Don't Expect Perfection.
Take time for yourself.
Expand the Circle of Joy.
Being ready to return to school.

"Okay guys, for the remainder of the class I'd like you to get into groups of two or more and work up a plan for your plans on how to get through the next 6 weeks of utter insanity that is the end of the semester and holidays in general," it was possible that he had his tongue a bit in his cheek with this one. "I'll be up here making a list of my own."

[ooc: OCDs are on the way up!]

Hoshi's family didn't really celebrate the holidays. However, she figured she'd have to briefly go home to let her parents know that she was still alive. That required a plan and she was open to suggestions.
