Thanksgiving - The cafeteria - Thursday early evening

Molly wasn't exactly in the mood to be social, but a StuCo sponsored Thanksgiving meal had been her suggestion and she could fake happy. Too bad there hadn't been time for StuCo to organize everything. Then she'd remembered the food replicator that got used every now and then.

So, she'd headed down to the cafeteria, picked the lock on the doors and quickly found the mailbox sized device.

After a test run and the discovery that it could make place settings as well, Molly made some hasty handwavy signs and ran to put them up in the dorm stairwells and common rooms before heading back to the cafeteria to start replicating dinner.

Finally, she opened the doors and sat down to wait to see if anybody would show up.

Molly nodded. "A lot of people spend it with their families."

"That might have been nice," Ino admitted, "on the other hand, not knowing I could go home means I don't have to worry about keeping my story straight in front of my Dad." She shrugged, "I like this, it's a good idea."

Molly grinned in amusement. "Your dad doesn't know what the school is like? Must be hard sending pictures home."

[intraspective]

"There will never be pictures." She said firmly, then drooped, "It's hard enough just writing weekly letters to him. He'd completely spazz about some things."

"I take it he didn't come to parents' weekend then?"

[intraspective]

"He did," Ino said ruefully, "and I spent it telling lies." Pause. "He thinks my boyfriend is just a girl who I hang out with."

"Oh, wow!" Molly said. "I can't even imagine how stressful that would have been. I think you need pie." She stood up. "Do you have a favorite kind?"

[intraspective]

"There was a lot of flailing around," she admitted, "It's not something I normally eat, really. Anything is good."

"Hmmmmm, I think that means you'll have to try several," Molly decided. "I'll get you little slices and then you can pick the one you like best. How does that sound?"

[intraspective]

"That works, I guess." She just wasn't going to think about how unhealthy that was. "Sure!" After all, it was for a holiday, right?

Molly hopped up with a big grin. "Okay, I'll be right back," she said and went over to the pies.

She returned a couple minutes later with a plate that held several slivers of pie. She presented it to Ino. "In order from left to right we have apple, cherry, pumpkin, french silk, pecan and blueberry."

"Ooooh, thank you!" Ino looked over the pie carefully, deciding what to pick. "What's french silk?" The others were pretty self-explanatory.

Cherry sounded pretty good to start with though.

"Chocolate mousse," Molly said. "With whipped cream on top."

"Ahhhh." Ino grinned, "Bet I'll like that one." Chocolate!

"Yeah, it does have a bit of an advantage."
