fandomhigh | Keeping Your Wits About You... [Monday 2nd Period 10-11] Class # 11 DANGER ROOM

Wilson was not unsympathetic to the events of the past week and the toll it had on the students. So he juggled through the syllabus a little and chose an exercise that was a bit whimsical but at the same time had a physical element that might help the kids focus a bit.

Wilson had ~~handwavily~~ sene out an e-mail to the students to have them meet in the Danger Room and he was there this morning, waiting beside a portable white board.

Once everyone was gathered around, he began the lecture.

"Morning everybody," Wilson began with a smile. "Today, we're going to learn how to jump off a moving train, safely. First I'm going to give you a quick lecture going over the key elements of train jumping, these being reason for jumping off the train, math and how to do it. Then we're going to partner up and you and your partner will take turns jumping off a moving train here in the Danger Room."

Smiling, Wilson moved towards the white board and he began to give the brief lecture on how to jump off a moving train. When he was finished, he capped the pen and turned back to the kids.

"Any questions? Okay, here are the ground rules, Johnny? No flying, Wyatt no orbing, same for you Chris for everybody else, no flying, levitating, teleporting or sending yourself by carrier pigeon. The object of the exercise is to be able to do the nitty gritty way."

Hands on his hips, he gave the class a grin.

"Pair up and get hopping!"

Savannah shook her head. "Not lost touch, not really. Just... I'm not sure how much I should really say with timelines and all of that. I can say we still communicate."

Summer smiled. "So I guess we really do become better friends."

Savannah nodded emphatically and her grin was genuine. "We so do."

"That is definitely good to know." Summer meant it.

Savannah nodded. "I'm glad we do." There was so much she wanted to tell Summer... but she knew she shouldn't.

"So how is life for you in twenty years?" Summer asked. "And what kind of skin products are there? Because seriously, it looks like you've aged very well."

Savannah laughed. "Career-wise everything is pretty good for me. Skin products... neither you nor I have needed them, I swear."

"So I age well, too? Awesome." Summer was so okay with that. "So what exactly do you do?"

"I'm an artist... and I own a high-end gallery in New York City."

Summer's eyes grew wide. "Oh my god, that is so awesome."

Savannah blushed. "All that I time I spent sketching and painting in school finally paid off."

"Totally," Summer replied. "I bet people are lining up to buy your art."

Savannah didn't want to sound like she was bragging.

"Eve and Sean say I sell well," she finally admitted. "I have a great career," she agreed.

"I hope I'm half as successful as you seem to be," Summer said thoughtfully.

"Don't worry." She could at least say that.

Summer grinned. "Okay then."

Savannah beamed at her. "And you have a great husband, too."

"And I bet you can't tell me who," Summer said, pouting slightly. "But you can tell me if you have a great husband, right?"

Savannah's face fell. "No... I never got married."

"Oh." Summer frowned. "I'm sorry if I just brought up something painful."

Savannah shook her head. "Nah, it's alright. Been very career driven."

"Are you happy?" Summer asked.

"Of course," she said with a smile. "I have a wonderful daughter and a great career and awesome friends."

Summer nodded. "I'm glad to hear that."

"Thanks." She wasn't about to reveal too much because timelines gave her a headache. "I keep wanting to ask yu things and then realizing that Fandom is on drugs this weekend or something. I'm not used to a twenty year difference."
