Friday's Anthro Classes

Intro to Anthropology:

Everyone's attendance got pushed back to zero, same with homework. Now that I've changed the system to consecutive absences and missed homework, if you are missing homework and then hand in homework next class, it will go back to zero. So the only people getting penalized are those people who never show up.

Anyway, today I want you to pair up with someone. You see, we're going to have a test on everything we covered so far on Monday. So pair up with someone and there's a list of terms and ideas that you should know. Go through each thing with your partner and hand in the completed sheet, which will count for homework.

Egyptian Archaeology:

Today we are going to look at sarcophagi. Aren't they pretty? For homework please read the chapter on sarcophagi and answer the questions. Hand them into me by Monday.

Anders comes in, still moving a little stiffly from last weekend's incident with getting stuck in a library shelf. He settles gingerly into a seat near the front and nearly chews his way through a pencil trying to listen for an opportunity where he can speak up and not sound too clueless.

*Waves his tinsel-covered scythe, hoping someone in this class can see him*

Cameron takes a seat in the second row and starts making notes. He's careful not to start copying any of the hieroglyphs in case they'd decide to come to life on his paper.

*scoots into the desk next to Cameron, for once not bothering to try to fluster Daniel*

*mutters* Whoa, those are like, the real kind too...

Uh, so, Da.. Doctor Jackson. These sarcophagus things, they're just stone and metal, right? No gadgets or gizmos in them? *baits the teacher*

And no creepy creatures inside?

I meant like beetles. Scarab beetles. Yep.

That's.. really gross man.

I hope Jack made sure I was cremated last time, because I don't want to think about bugs eating away at my decomposing flesh.

This may result in me visiting and dancing on my own grave. Just, y'know, to say I've done it.

*Lana comes in and takes a seat. She seems a little preoccupied and is not quite her usual semi-infatuated with Dr. Jackson self today.*

(OOC: Somehow I missed this.)

Beka stops by Dr. Jackson's desk and sets down his coffee without a word. It's as he likes it, and that, in itself, says everything she feels she needs to say today.

John walks in and takes a seat in the back, quietly reading.

Cameron hands in his homework, having done exactly what has been asked.

*hands in homework all questions answered, perhaps a few with a touches personal familiarity with the subject*

*hands in homework scrawled on a few pages torn out of a notebook. It's complete, but erratically placed over the page*

Lana turns in an amazingly detailed paper as usual. Still trying to impress the teacher, no doubt.

Beka's homework discusses sarcophagi, but also includes a note that details what she knows of the location of the nearest Gou'ald sarcophagi the Vedran ruins she'd like to do her independent study on.

John turns in his homework, on time and actually not messy.

"Have a good time tonight." Beka smiles, and very much hopes that he does.
