Friday Language Classes
Dream is in a classroom, calmly tossing an apple from one hand to the other.
Most of the time it is an apple, at least; if it sometimes looks like a heart and other times like a grenade ... well, it must be a trick of the light.
If you've spent a lot of time with him before, you may notice something slightly different about him today. He isn't an entirely different aspect ... but neither is he entirely the same. He seems slightly dazed, and it might be prudent to remind him of any commitments he has made for the near future.
Hello.
We have Classics, Indo-European and Languages of Asia today, as well as my regular office hours.
I am here if anyone should need my help. Otherwise, please converse among yourselves, paying special attention to the vocabulary sheets on your desks.
Also, I suspect my class rosters may have fallen into disorder. Let me know if you know them to be in error; I will purge any students who have not shown up to at least one class by next Friday.
And he goes back to tossing his apple.
[OOC: New player. Be gentle. I'll be maintaining the individual-classes-in-comment threads thing.]

Re: CLASSICS
because she has allergies, not because she's mourning her father. "Yeah, he liked....he toler...he thought you were a good guy and was mostly happy you were my commanding officerexcept for the part where it meant we had seven years of UST."She takes another large gulp of coffee, savoring the taste. "Yeah, I know what you mean--if this were some ordinary Friday, Daniel and Murray would be clones in teenage bodies, too, and we'd figure our way out of this. Without them...we're really here and doing this. We're living our lives over again."
Re: CLASSICS
Was it really only seven? Felt like sixty.I... I'm a complete shit for thinking it but I hope that one day I'll turn the corner and Murray'll be there, all gawky and teenagey. Just because then I know tht we'd get fixed eventually. Might take a while but it would happen.
[OOC: What timezone are you in?]
Re: CLASSICS
Yes, seven extremely frustrating years. Trust me, I was there for every one of them."Yeah, I know what you mean. It was hard not to beg someone to contact Thor or Loki to make this right. At least you had it done to you without your permission, and have an excuse." She looked down at herself scornfully. "As opposed to me, your 'resident genius,' who chose to have this happen to her." She laughed again, but there was no joy in it. "I think I made a slight miscalculation somewhere."
[OOC: EDT (-5 GMT, I think. You?)]
Re: CLASSICS
I... I'm not entirely sure there is a way for even Thor to fix this. I think I'd rather not know and hold out hope." Jack feels a little sick now, and the back of his throat feels slimey. "You can't really blame yourself Carter, there was no way to know what this would be like. It's one thing to be told you can't see anyone you know again, it's another to actually... not." Bleh. This is a great way to start the day. And there's still Speech and the Field Trip left.
[OOC: MST, -7GMT. Also? Here's the Refugee cheet-sheet. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/2ls_in_oneill/1655.html) Feel free to favorite.]
Re: CLASSICS
She sees the expression on Jack's face and realizes it wasn't at all what she meant to have happen. They're talking, but she certainly never meant to make him feel guilty. "Sure I can blame myself, Jack. You know me, I do it all the time. And we'll still mostly the same people--just shorter, skinnier, and more afraid of the food in the cafeteria than we ever were of the mess. As for the other stuff? We'll figure it out. Together."
Re: CLASSICS
His stomach is still queasy, but he doesn't feel like throwing up quite so much now. "Don't blame yourself Carter, you had nothing to do with this. If you wnt to blame anyone blame Loki, he started all this crap. You are right though, we're still pretty much the same people. But damn, I put all this teenage crap behind me years ago, I shouldn't have to do this crap again."
Jack sighs and runs a hand through his hair, it's longer than he's used to but he hasn't gotten around to cutting it yet. "As shitty as it sounds I'm glad you're here. If it weren't for you guys I'm not sure what I'd do."
Re: CLASSICS
DamnitI chose to do this for a very specific reason--your very specific reason, actually. We don't leave our people behind, sir, not even in high school.""Besides," she said, leaning over to whisper, "if we hadn't come here, we wouldn't have Janet or Kawalsky back--and they're worth everything we have to go through, right?"
She straightens. "Oh, and speaking of teenage crap...I saw Kawalsky's latest billboard." She looks into his
incredibly sexy darkbrown eyes with a steady gaze. "You should have said something, Jack.""...Not that I'm not happy for you, of course," she said, pasting a large smile on her face. "Beka's a great girl...it's just...great that you're going."
Re: CLASSICS
Thanks. I'm glad you're not not here." Jack rubs his head a little and lowers his voice. "You are right though, as shitty as this all is Janet and Kawalsky are back and this makes it worth it in it's own way."
Shit. The billboard. He completely forgot about that. "It was supossed to be a joke at first, a trick we were playing on Shep, and then the Zombies attacked and somehow... it kinda took a sideways turn out of nowhere." He sees the big fake grin on her face and feels like scum. He hates it when Carter feels bad and hates it even more when he's the reason for it.
"I was going to tell you, but then you were gone and I really didn't want to putthis on your shoulders with... everything else."
[OOC: Parent's Weekend Post. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/2ls_in_oneill/5052.html) Cause we need to figure out what we're gonna do for sure.]
Re: CLASSICS
Take that, Jack O'Neill. You're definitely not the only fish in the sea, and it's time we both remembered it.
