Art 101, Period 4, Class 9 (Monday 11-5)

Instead of art stations, there was just a huge tarp on the floor of the art room today. The only other clue as to what was going on was a table with white bedsheets, white body paint, and a laurel wreath or two on it, and their teacher standing in front of a bulletin board full of pictures of statues, grinning broadly.

"Last week, we sculpted in clay. There are lots of other kinds of sculpture--in stone, bronze, steel, and glass, for starters--but we don't have that kind of time, and quite frankly I don't trust some of you with a chisel or a blowtorch." If anyone thought his gaze drifted to Jamie Madrox, well, it wasn't their imagination. "So instead, today I'm shamelessly stealing a class from my predecessor life imitates art. I want you to break up into groups and pick a statue--it can be one of these on the board, or it can be another one you know of--to recreate as accurately as possible while remaining clothed using these supplies," with a gesture to the table, "and one of your group. If you choose one of the equestrian statues, there is a rocking horse available."

((Now in the right place, I hope...))

Jamie took the bedsheet. "White? See... I think we should have something with more color. Do we have any My Little Pony bedsheets?"

"I don't see any," Naminé said. "Which is a shame. I hear that Achilles was ever so fond of them. His actual Achilles' heel wasn't to do with his foot. It was his deep love for Saturday morning cartoons. They snuck up on him at 6:30 while he was watching meta for Smurfs in footed pajamas."

"Okay. Now I want footie pajamas. Go get me some."

"Shouldn't we draw ponies on your sheets, first?" Naminé mused. "And I suppose if we can't find any footie pajamas, we can always staple your socks to your pants."

"I can't believe you'd treat my socks like that," Jamie said looking horrified. "Those are potential puppets you know."

"I would lend you my socks, but I haven't any," Naminé said, pointing to her sandals. "Very well. Masking tape? It can be removed with a minimum of fuss, and your socks shall live to puppet another day."

"That would be acceptable. Do we have a blue marker for a blue pony?" Jamie asked. "I always like the blue pony."

"I believe that can be arranged," Naminé said, fishing through the art supplies until she came up with a few markers. "You take blue, I'll take ... purple. Are you man enough to have purple ponies on your bedsheets?"

"What are you implying? Ponies are completely manly," Jamie said puffing up his chest.

"And purple is royalty, after all," she laughed, uncapping her marker and drawing a stick figure pony onto the bedsheet. "Perhaps your ponies are benevolent leaders of the other ponies. Is that your Achilles' heel?"

"Yes. We need a plushy to put that in my room later."

"Ah, but then your plushy might be stolen," she mused. "And the prophecy fulfilled, and Achilles falls victim again. Such a shame."
