15 Ways to Protect Yourself and Others: Period 3, Week 8

"Morning, guys," Aly said easily as the students filed into the Danger Shop. "Last week, we talked about bodyguarding and hopefully over the past week, you got some 'real world' so to speak experience with it. I'd like to hear about that today first of all."

"Secondly, if you'll break up into the pairs you had last week and decide who's going to be the bodyguard and who's being guarded, I have a scenario for each of you to go through." She grinned. "If you want to consider this your midterm, go for it."

"Anything you think you'll need as a bodyguard, there's a selection of things over there, you can grab. Please don't kill anyone in the simulation unnecessarily. That almost always reflects badly on your client."

Are you ready...for what's coming?

Being a responsible bodyguard ~~and a control freak~~, Zuko headed in first. He did make sure to bring his dual blades just in case... and lock picks.

Mostly a control freak.

Teddy sighed and followed behind him, also on the look out.

They were walking down a thin red carpet through a throng of cheering, shouting girls, all who were reaching to try to touch Teddy - or beg him to touch, kiss, love them.

Well, that was easy enough. Zuko wasn't going to exactly set the fangirls on fire, but there was nothing saying he couldn't heat things up so they'd move back. Drawing in a breath, he conjured up a flame that would die just shy of reaching the fans. "Move back!"

Teddy looked around for the teacher. "Are you serious?"

This was just the worst scenario ever!

Fortunately Aly was nowhere to be seen. Possibly because she was laughing too hard.

The girls screamed as the fire flared towards them and dove away. To be replaced by hundreds of cameras clicking away. Bright flashes filled the air as people began to yell. "Teddy! Teddy! Are you happy to have your bodyguard threaten helpless girls?"

"I said get out of the way or I'll flame you too," Zuko warned, conjuring up a flame and holding it out threateningly. Who cared about PR?

Teddy facepalmed. "No setting people on fire!" He snapped at Zuko. "And I really doubt there are paparazzi for alien emperors!"

"I'm not!" Zuko protested. "I'm just warning them to get those things out of my face!"

The shots that rang out above the heads of the crowd happened while Zuko was arguing with Teddy. Screaming began again as the crowd started pushing towards the entrance to the building.

Zuko startled at the shots and as much as he hated guns, it was better than foaming fangirls.

"Down," he told Teddy as he stepped back towards him and pulled out his swords as he tried to get a look at the crowd.

Teddy was green in the blink of an eye, protective scales hardening as he looked around.

Sure, he knew he was the protectee, but it was an automatic response to try and keep other people safe too. "Where'd it come from?"

"That way, I think," Zuko pointed in the direction he thought the sound had come from. Then frowned. "You're supposed to stay down!"

Peter led Inara forward, looking around carefully for whatever might be going on.

Inara followed quietly behind Peter, trying to stay close, but not so close that he couldn't move if necessary.

Scanning their surroundings as soon as they entered, Molly led Z into the scene.

Z followed Molly, looking around curiously.

Wyatt checked out the area for any possible threat to Claire, then motioned for her to go ahead. He could always orb her out of danger, he supposed.

Claire was still smirking at Wyatt for his chivalry. It wasn't like she could actually get into any danger, but being treated like this was sort of fun.
