When the students filed into the Danger Shop they found two young girls standing with John in the usual lecture spot.

"Hi," the older one said, bouncing a little on her toes. "I'm Susannah Lynn and this is my half-sister Grace. Dad asked us to help him with this class since it's all about us.

"See, there was this big swirling thing, a..... vortex?" She looked up at John for confirmation of the word, grinning when he nodded and then continuing. "And a bunch of us kids got pulled through it and came to Fandom and got to meet our parents before they were our parents. It was really freaky and a little scary, but it was also a lot of fun." She giggled. "Seeing everybody's face when they realised we were their kids was really really funny.

"It was so much fun, that Dad decided that you should get a chance to play too! Isn't that great?" She turned and looked up at John again. "This is where you take over, right?"

John smiled and nodded. "It is. Thanks, Susannah." He addressed the class. "Fandom is always throwing the unexpected at you. And sometimes that isn't a hostile invasion. Sometimes it's the next generation. The object this class isn't to fight the invaders, but look after them. Keep them amused, fed, make sure they go to bed on time... you know. Be parents. And then make sure they get back to where they're supposed to be."

Grace pulled on John's pantleg. "Daddy? I wanna colour!"

John picked her up and smiled wryly at the class. "Sometimes it's easier to just beat something up."

"Oh you little-" Dick reached over to try to grab the whipped cream. "You're so going to regret that!"

Lilly was giggling like a maniac, but she did have very tiny hands, so it was easy for Dick to grab the whipped cream from her. She stuck her tongue out. "You gotta catch me first!" she said, jumping down from the counter.

"But you'll like it! You'll be like a little sundae!" Dick shouted, chasing after her.

Lilly ran over and started jumping on the couch. "Mommy'll get mad if you start a food fight!"

Never mind that she had started it. Do you think Veronica would ever believe that?

"Yeah, well, Mommy's not here!" Dick said. He stood in front of the couch and shook the whipped cream can. "It's time for revenge."

Hoping to distract him, Lilly jumped from the couch towards him, wrapping her arms and legs around him.

"Whoa!" Dick had to drop the whipped cream can suddenly in order to grab a hold of Lilly. "Darn! You've disarmed me."

"Mommy says that disarming your attacker is the most important thing," Lilly recited.

"Did she give you a little taser too?" he joked.

"You told her I couldn't have one til I was in middle school," Lilly said, pouting at her daddy.

"Good." Dick said. "If you're anything like your mom then you'd be tasering people left and right."

"Mommy only tasers the bad guys," Lilly told him.

Dick was sure if Veronica had the chance she'd probably taser him. And he wasn't all bad. Really.

"You're right." he said. "But you're still too young to have one. I'll protect you until then."

Lilly giggled. "Mommy protects us."

"Please. I don't need Veronica to protect me." he said, rolling his eyes.

"Can we watch TV?" Lilly asked with a shrug, not caring much about who protected who since her mom had given her a secret taser with strict instructions not to ever tell her dad she had it.

"Sure." Dick said, sitting her down on the couch. He grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. "Uh...what do I usually let you watch?"

Lilly grinned. "The movies with the explosions that Mommy doesn't like me to watch."

"Excellent." Dick said with a similar grin. He sat down on the couch and flipped it to the Spike channel, knowing they would have something unnecessarily violent on the TV. "Nothing like explosions before bed time."

"Uh huh!" Lilly said, crawling up into his lap. "This is just like being at home," she said.

"What's home like anyways?" he asked. He couldn't really picture himself living with Veronica at all. The thought of marrying her really weirded him out.

"Me and you and Mommy live in a big house," Lilly said. "And we have a maid who comes over to clean sometimes. Mommy works a lot, so you usually watch me."

Yes! No job! Dick wouldn't mind having that life. Except for the being with Veronica part.

"That sounds pretty awesome." Dick said. "What about, uh, your mom's witchy friends?"

No, he wasn't afraid of being explodinated by Piper. Really.

"Aunt Piper doesn't visit very much," Lilly said. "She's pretty busy."

"That's good." Dick said, sounding relieved. "I mean, good for her. For being busy."

"So we still see Angel, Logan and Piper." Dick said. "Got any more Aunts and Uncles I should be worried about?"
