Rose had a set of computer terminals ~~handwavily~~ set-up on each desk. "Last class we talked about computers, now we're going to tackle the wonderful world of the internet. One of the benefits of the internet is that it makes researching easier be it for class, work or," here she aimed a pointed glance at the boys, "or something very NC-17."

She passed a set of handouts to the class, "The internet makes it easy for us to exchange mail at the speed of snappin' your fingers, time was it'd take days, even months for people to correspond to each other.This fun service is called e-mail, or electronic mail. Another fun fact about the internet is you can do almost anything with it: You can buy clothes, talk to someone from across the seas, and as I said earlier, you can even do some research online. Alternatively, it also means it makes things easier for some people to prey on others. So, there's also a safety issue involved.

"There has been a growin' number of cases that involved people losing their entire fortunes because they trusted people they hadn't met before. Worse, people have lost their lives because they've been too careless with their words while using the net. So, a bit of pointers before I set you lot out into the wonderful, frightening world of the internet:

First, remember never to give out personal information such as your name, home address, school name, or telephone number in a chat room or on bulletin boards. Also, never send a picture of yourself to someone you chat with on the computer without your parent's permission.
Never write to someone who has made you feel uncomfortable or scared.
Do not meet someone or have them visit you without the permission of your parents.
Tell your parents right away if you read anything on the Internet that makes you feel uncomfortable.
Remember that people online may not be who they say they are. Someone who says that "she" is a "12-year-old girl" could really be an older man.

"Right that's it for today, go on, kids, enjoy the net. They'll be no show and tell for today, we'll resume it again, next week."

As usual, Chad's being a good student and taking his notes to the brief lecture.

Liz quietly took notes.

Start up an account and start ~~spamming~~ communicating with other people.

Cruise, surf and bump other people. Or look for porn.

Chad had never really been able to afford a computer (all of his money always went into music and food, usually in that order), so it was an interesting experience for him getting behind one and kind of lunking around.

And, no, he was totally not trying to find Teal Dear fansites hidden around. Maybe some that talk about the extremely sexy bass player...There had to be at least one, come on...

Robin found youtube. He was giggling uncontrollably.

Rose grinned, "See you found youtube."

"Yep." Robin said. The cat macro video was hilarious. "This is great!"

Well.

They didn't have the internet in Hell. This was new and not at all old-fashioned and apparently made being evil easier, so Blackheart approved of it almost immediately.

Plus, he discovered blogsites. A perfect avenue for unleashing his ~~hellish~~ ~~emo~~ dark and terrifying ~~poetry~~ notions upon the world.

Rose read over his shoulder, "Startin' a blog, Blackie?"

Faile sat, looking at the computer. She remembered enough from last week that using the computer wasn't a problem. It was just that she really couldn't think of anything to look for.

"Hey," Rose said, approaching Faile, "do you need any help?

Faile shrugged. "There is nothing I can think to look for," she said.

"Maybe you can look for..." Rose thought about it, "clothes? weapons? Maybe something about your home world?"

Faile's eyebrows went up and she looked suddenly interested. "Weapons? I could find knives?" she asked.

"You won't believe half the things you can find on the 'net." She gestured to the computer, "so, yeah, weapons, knives, swords, the stray sonic blasters..."

Faile was much more interested now. "How do I start looking?" she asked.

"Here..." Rose leaned forward and started tapping on the keyboards until the google page appeared. "An' all you have to do is type in what you want to look for," she typed in 'sword' and immediately the result page appeared, "an, voila."

Faile boggled at the number of results. "This is going to take awhile," she muttered before smiling at Rose. "Thank you for your assistance."

"Hey, its what I'm here for, yeah?" Rose tilted her head, "y'know we don't know much about your culture, would you mind doin' a bit of show an' tell for us next week?"

Baffled by technology? Annoy Rose with questions!

She's sitting on her table, just sitting, even the customary smile was missing.
