How's it going, my good rocking student dudes?

So, uh, we've lost Really Short Dude. Not that he's gone missing or was eaten by a ~~polar bear~~ gremlin, but he's just gone. So we've got a new TA, Hyper Drummer Dudette (

lane_drums)! Now she's got the spare key to the music closet. I keep Twinkies in there.

This Week's Class Task: By the end of today [OOC: by the time the class is posted next week] I want you all to decide on a band name. You can tell me this name once you're all decided either in class, or one of you can leave me a voicemail about it.

[OOC: If there's a number next to your name that means you haven't shown up for that many consecutive classes. It will be reset to 0 if you show up. This class really relies on participation, so please show up, even if it's only for a brief moment. If you hit 3, I will assume you don't want to do this class anymore and won't bother you about it.]

Band 1/2 (has combined due to numbers)

We might get more people if there's another enrolment session. If there's enough we'll open another band, if not Band 3 and 4 will get more people. The more the merrier dudes!

Uhh, from this list that Professor Ted passed out, how about "Uninvited Academy" or "Monday of the Shallow Siren"?

My page has "Sunday's Loaf"... "Cow Theory"... "Racket Factor"... "soundtea"... "Pool of Leaves"...

"Ooh - 'soundtea' is rather nice. What do you think, Lane?"

I don't know - I was kinda leaning towards "Racket Factor"... it's catchy. But "soundtea" would be okay, too. I guess it sort of depends on the type of music we want to do.

*Lane shrugs*

Oz has been quiet the entire discussion. Oz doesn't say much, particularly around people he doesn't know. But this is his band now, and he wants to have some kind of input into the band name.

"Soundtea? No. I like Pool Of Leaves. People will remember that." ~~Like they remember Dingoes Ate My baby~~

"Pool of Leaves" does have a nice imagery to it. I could go for that.

Well, there's two of them right now, arguing on their way in.

"Adjective Verb?" This from Connor. "What th' fuck kind of band name is that?"

"Th' kind that gets suggested while yer not even showin' up in class. Ya think ya've got somethin' better, let's hear it then."

Which gets the darker haired twin a withering glare. "Ya know perfectly well what I would've said."

"Just though ya'd rather have kept it th' two of us, was all." Murphy shrugs. "So one suggestion of Adjective Verb, an' one fer Boondock Saints, then."

Sonia sits back quietly and watches the argument.

"Burning Record." That sounds...surprisingly appropriate. *writes it down*

Has some nice fire overtones.

Sonia quirks an eyebrow and smiles.

"Indeed. Ve could probably make it vurk."

The boys exchange a look.

"Sounds alright ta us," Murphy finally says.

Connor nods and rubs a hand over his face. Burning Record. That could work.

So... for the band name. I was thinking maybe we could attempt to be witty and maybe use some sort of musical term. Like... "Crescendo to Forte" or something. *shrug*

Maybe if we figure out what we wanna play, it'd be easier to come up with a name. But I got nothing right now.
