Art 101, Period 4, Class 6 (Monday 10-8)

Steve was, occasionally, a flake, which was why he hadn't realized until Monday morning he hadn't lined up a model for this week. Luckily, he'd had a last-minute burst of inspiration, and had placed a call to the math teacher. After a lot of begging, pleading, and promising to provide beer for all televised Montreal Canadiens games this month (there went his paycheck), Steve had his model.

The work tables had been rearranged in a semicircle, and in front of them stood Jean-Paul Beaubier in his Northstar costume, circa Alpha Flight.

"The nice thing about spandex," Steve said, ignoring the model's glare, "is that it allows you to see muscle definition without the model actually being naked. So your assignment for today is to draw Northst--Mr. Beaubier. Use whichever medium you feel most comfortable with. Pay special attention to the muscles and joints, but don't forget the little details, like how his white streak is growing out. Need some dye there, Jean-Paul?"

Jean-Paul just glared some more.

"Note the points on the ears. These do not, despite what you may have been told, indicate Mr. Beaubier is an elf from the magical fairy land."

"It was an honest mistake!" Jean-Paul protested.

Steve coughed into his hand to hid his snicker, then said, "Oh, and be sure to thank Mr. Beaubier for so generously agreeing to model for us."

Jean-Paul was trying very hard to be still, a difficult state for a speedster, especially since he really wanted to check in a mirror now to see if the white was growing back out, and he was sure at least one kid was going to ask about the magical fairy land. He kept himself in place with thoughts of free beer.

Jamie looked at JP and shook his head.

That's not how you model for art class.

One stomp of his foot and he had a duplicate ready to sketch.

30 seconds later and he was practically naked in front of class. Except for a sock in a strategically placed area.

Why it was strategically placed on his foot? No idea.

"Go ahead and take a seat Jean-Paul," Jamie said with a wave of his hand. "I've got this one."

"That's quite a sock," John muttered as he began drawing a stick figure of Jamie. And his sock.

"Well it was a lot better when my roommate hadn't filled it with shaving cream and then drew on it," Jamie shrugged. "But it keeps my foot warm."

Naminé couldn't help laughing. "Very kind of you to help," she said, flipping to a new page in order to work on their new subject.

"Is there a particular pose you want?" Jamie said flexing his arms.

Naminé pretended to consider. "Well, anything is helpful, really. I've never had the opportunity to sketch the form before."

"Well would you prefer something classical?" Jamie asked getting into the form of "The Thinker". "Or would you prefer something... less classical?"

"I'm spoiled for choice," she laughed. "I've never ordered around a sock-clad man before. You could always stretch out as though you're just lounging about, naked and decadent. It's a shame we've no grapes."

Jamie moved into a lounging pose.

Actually it looked like he was sitting in an easy chair and clicking a remote.

"Like this?"

"If you're comfortable, I do believe that would be perfect," Naminé smiled.

"Then someone needs to get me a beer and then I'd be perfectly comfortable," Jamie said out loud.

"I'm afraid I can't," Naminé said lightly. "I'm sketching. Perhaps our professor might be so kind?"

Jamie at this point was already putting his clothes back on at the teacher's request.

"My rights to self-expression apparently do not get me any closer to a beer."

Naminé was still lightly flushed. "They do appear to have earned you detention. Perhaps there will be beer there?"

"One can only hope. Catch ya later Naminé!"

Naminé had the decency to flush. "Yes, sir. My apologies."

Jamie sighed and started to put on his clothes. "I thought art was about self-expression?"

Jamie was tucking in his shirt into his jeans and putting on his coat. "I wasn't trying to humiliate anyone. Heck do you realize how cold it is in here? I'm the one who should be humiliated."

"C'mon Mr. Rogers!" Jamie said as he headed to the door. "Admit it! You'll miss me when I leave the room!"
