Combined Mathematics #4 [Friday 9-28, Period 4]

"Addition and subtraction," Jean-Paul said. "Most of you can already do these things, so congratulations. You are ahead of the curve. But review never hurt anyone, non? So, today your assignment is to work together to make up word problems using addition and subtraction. Trying to trip up your partner is encouraged. Make them think.

"Also, if anyone is interested, there is some optional homework this week--prove to me that two plus two does not equal four for extra credit."

How the heck could two plus two not equal four?

Charlie was kind of staring at Jean-Paul as if she were wondering where he escaped from.

Peter could prove that 2=1, but he wasn't sure about 2+2/=4. He'd definitely have to try that one out.

Adah was determined to make all her word problems palindromes. A whole page of them. With or without a partner.
