Student Council [Friday at lunch]

"Hello and welcome to the fall 2007 Student Council," Josh said, looking around the room with a warm smile. "We have a couple of things to discuss: Homecoming is in less than two weeks, after all, and Parents Weekend's at the end of October. So we'll talk about both, but first we need to elect one of the seniors as president of the Student Council."

He waved his hands at the pizza in the back of the classroom. "Grab some food, talk a bit among yourselves, then we'll get to work."

"Ooooooooh!" Turtle, clearly, was very impressed, grinning broadly at Peter's idea. "I like that! I mean, think about it, everyone who's been here a while can relive their experiences, and it gives the others who haven't been here long to get a touch of it, too!"

He'd mainly been joking, but her enthusiasm made Peter think through the idea again. "It would rather work well since all the graduates are coming back too. We could go through the Yearbooks and pull out pictures and have them blown up perhaps. And then drag a troll statue in and such like that. It could be fun."

"Could the troll statue get a party hat?"

Turtle, clearly, was a bit excited for the idea.

"Could dress him up in a party dress too," Peter laughed.

"See?" Turtle chuckled. "Can't go wrong with a troll in a party dress."

"Too bad the other invasions haven't left us with such easily dressed up remains," Peter said, far too amused

"Well," Turtle said, "that just means we'll have to use this," she tapped her forehead, "a bit more. And something else we might be able to do is ask people about their favorite moments, so that we can use those, too, maybe, so that smaller scale things, not just the big invasion types, can be included. We're supposed to be representatives, right? So we should find out what the people would like along that line."

She beamed so proudly to say that. She was a representative! It just made her feel so amazing to be here and be doing this. It was totally worth the stress and the drunken radio and the throwing up in the hallway. Totally.

Peter restrained himself from grinning at her like she was one of his little sisters. "Things that aren't mentioned in the yearbooks as well," he agreed. "Perhaps we should take the weekend to talk to people and meet back on Monday to finalise? We should still have plenty of time to order what we need. I'll check with the Town Hall to make sure they're expecting us."

"Oh, yay! Definitely! That'll be perfect!"
