Hoshi was wide awake, having struggled the night before with some Russian verbs that were giving her some trouble. As soon as the library was open, she was there. "I need some reference books on Russian," she said.
"Um," she paused to look at the cheat-sheet she had written up to help with her library questions. "Did you want Russian history, Russian literature, or Russian language?"
"Well, you could browse the 400 section, see if anything catches your eye in particular, but we do have a few dictionaries." Anemone tapped away at her keyboard diligently. "There's '501 Verbs', 'Dictionary of Russian Slang', 'Essential Russian Grammar'....any of these sound close to what you need?"
"'Essential Russian Grammar' sounds like a good choice," said Hoshi. "Unless there's something on Russian insults I can bring for Communications class this week, just in case."
"Considering that Russian sounds angry half the time? I bet you could recite a shopping list at the class and everyone would think they were being insulted." Anemone jotted down the call numbers for Kemple's (http://www.amazon.com/Essential-Russian-Grammar-Brian-Kemple/dp/048627375X/ref=pd_ts_b_7/002-6783428-6905623?ie=UTF8&s=books) book and few (http://www.amazon.com/Silver-Book-Russian-Verbs-Books/dp/007143299X/ref=pd_sim_b_3/002-6783428-6905623?ie=UTF8&qid=1190746623&sr=8-1) others (http://www.amazon.com/English-Russian-Russian-English-Dictionary-Kenneth-Katzner/dp/0471017078/ref=pd_ts_b_2/002-6783428-6905623?ie=UTF8&s=books). "Although it would be a handy skill to have. I bet the teacher would give you extra credit if you taught his friend how to say 'I am a fluffy kitten' in Russian, and let him think it meant something else."
"I might have to resort to that in one class, although Greek might be better. I've got Fandom's Next Top Runway Project thanks to some paperwork error," said Hoshi with a grimace. "Then there's Keeping Your Wits, which I like, and Love Smart, which I don't like as much but it's gotten better since I got to be the TA for that one."

"How are your other classes going? The ones besides Comms class? Any that you can use Russian insults in?"
