There had been a ~~handwavey~~ correspondance to the students to let them know to meet in the Danger Room today, though have no fear, this in no way meant there were no treats. Wilson had made Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake bars for the students to get their sweet fix satisfied. There was also coffee, tea and water.

Wilson himself was leaning against a wall with a cup of coffee in his hand. As soon as everybody was in the Danger Room and accounted for, the young doctor grinned and straightened up.

"All right then. Today is our first practical lesson. You are each going to face down an insideous opponant, one by one through that door there. You can not use force, you can not use powers. Johnny, you can try fire on the door, it won't give, it's designed to be impervious to all your powers, magical or otherwise. You must play by the door's rules."

He waited for the students to finish looking at him as if he'd grown a second head and grinned around his coffee cup.

"Yes I said door. You'll understand when you get into the scenario. Now the rules are you have three chances to make it through the door. After that, times up and either you solve the door's challenge or you loose. Loosing won't affect your grade but I hope it will make you think. Winning ... gives you bragging rights over the door. Okay, everyone understand? Then step up and you go in alphabetical order."

Picking up a clipboard, he began to read off the list.

"Not yet, but I've been meaning to check it out," said Hoshi. She had intentions of checking out the history of this universe to see how it compared to her own, but was a little afraid of what she might find out.

"It's amazing," Beauty said, her eyes widening a little. "Positively full of books, from floor to ceiling. I've never seen anything like it."

Books were still pretty common in Hoshi's century, although the only library that Hoshi had been to in Kyoto had the majority of its collection stored on data padds (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/PADD). "That sounds like something I need to see. I wonder why other languages they have there," she said.

"Quite a few, I'm sure," Beauty replied. "I found some history books, too. And the library aide mentioned something called the 'special collection', too, although I don't know what's in there." Yet.

"They must be the really interesting books," said Hoshi.

"Or the very rare and valuable ones," Beauty agreed. Which would make them interesting as well, just for the fact of their being rare. "I think you need special permission to go into that section, though."

She wondered if any of her teachers would be likely to help her with that.

"I wonder if Professor Stinson could help me out with that," pondered Hoshi. "He said he may need my help for some research."

Ooh, Beauty thought that was a really good idea. Professor Stinson seemed a little off his head, he probably could be convinced to help a student into Special Collections.

"Would you tell me if he does? I'd like to get in there myself, and if Professor Stinson turns out to be a good person to go to..." She smiled wryly. "Although I don't think he likes me much."

"He made me his TA and he still can't even remember my name," said Hoshi. "I'll try asking him, though, and see what happens."
