When students entered the classroom, they would find it set up like any normal high school classroom, complete with a projection screen covering what was probably a white board. Barney was waiting for students, looking slightly annoyed by his roster. He shoved a syllabus in the hand of each student as they entered the room. When it appeared most students had arrived, Barney began his lecture.

"This class is titled Love Smart and I, Barney Stinson, Professor of Awesome, will be your instructor." Barney looked around the room and sighed. "I know, I know, relationships are rarely awesome." He figured those from his Awesome class would agree with him. "But I agreed to teach this class so as to guide you students through the mysterious world of relationshps."

Barney took a moment and engaged his PowerPoint presentation. Images of sappy couples in love flashed across the screen along with the questions:
What is a Relationship?
Are you in a Relationship?
If so, why aren't you good enough for your significant other?
Are you a good liar?

Pointing a finger at the screen Barney said, "This is our topic for today. I want each of you to introduce yourself and tell us your answers to these questions." He looked expectantly at the group of students. "You know kids, when I feel sad, like you probably do right now as you're faced with your terrible relationship or lack thereof, do you know what I do? I stop being sad and get AWESOME instead. True story. Let's get started!"

That was certainly an effective way to hit Sam's insecurity button, whether it was a lie or not. "Well, you're not the first girl I've been in love with either." Yeah, right.

Dawn eyed Sam. He looked and sounded like he was telling the truth, but she figured he would have said something before now. The same way she would have. "Lie."

"Yeah," he admitted. "And yours was a lie too. Um, wasn't it?"

She rolled her eyes and decided to let this be her truth. "Of course it was a lie, Sam. Don't you think I would have told you?"

"Well, it's not like I asked you how many guys might have come before me," Sam pointed out.

Another eyeroll. He was related to the only guy who might have been a real possibility. "I'm not supposed to tell you the truth again, but in the spirit of moving on--I had a crush on Spike and Xander, kissed the vampire guy, and had a thing for RJ and his letterman's jacket. Dean you know. Happy?"

"You didn't have to give me the whole list," Sam said. "But I--wait, you had a crush on Spike?" Sam narrowed his eyes a little. "I guess I can understand why, with the whole bad boy thing he has going."

Yes, that was his second lie. He wasn't really trying at the moment.

"It wasn't the bad boy thing," Dawn went for her second lie, as well, and probably was no more convincing than Sam's. "He's a lot of fun, really."

"Liar," Sam said with a smirk. "All girls go for the bad boy thing. It's like, ingrained in the second X chromosome."

"I don't always go for the bad boy! You're not." She eyed him. Okay, maybe he was a little. Or there was bad boy potential, which was almost as interesting. "Buffy always goes for the bad boy."
