Love Smart: Period 2, Week 1

When students entered the classroom, they would find it set up like any normal high school classroom, complete with a projection screen covering what was probably a white board. Barney was waiting for students, looking slightly annoyed by his roster. He shoved a syllabus in the hand of each student as they entered the room. When it appeared most students had arrived, Barney began his lecture.

"This class is titled Love Smart and I, Barney Stinson, Professor of Awesome, will be your instructor." Barney looked around the room and sighed. "I know, I know, relationships are rarely awesome." He figured those from his Awesome class would agree with him. "But I agreed to teach this class so as to guide you students through the mysterious world of relationshps."


Barney took a moment and engaged his PowerPoint presentation. Images of sappy couples in love flashed across the screen along with the questions:
What is a Relationship?
Are you in a Relationship?
If so, why aren't you good enough for your significant other?
Are you a good liar?


Pointing a finger at the screen Barney said, "This is our topic for today. I want each of you to introduce yourself and tell us your answers to these questions." He looked expectantly at the group of students. "You know kids, when I feel sad, like you probably do right now as you're faced with your terrible relationship or lack thereof, do you know what I do? I stop being sad and get AWESOME instead. True story. Let's get started!"

"My name is Beauty Honour, and I'm not sure how I got registered for this class." She was sort of hoping the teacher would discover she wasn't on the roster, and then she could escape. "I think a relationship is a love between two people so deep, that even if one of them is lost at sea, the other will never give up hope that he'll come back."

Why yes, she was using her sister as a model. It was romantic.

"What's that self? Feeling some nausea?" Barney was talking to himself, yes. He found it highly amusing. "Let's try to keep this discussion rooted in the reality that relationships are fleeting and no amount of hope can make a guy stay when the chick's gotten too clingy."

Okay. This teacher was quite possibly weirder than the guy who taught Beauty's Wednesday class.

"This is a class on how to run off from a relationship when you get scared?"
