Popular Culture [Thursday, September 6, 4th Period]

Rose entered the room and placed her things on the table.

"Good afternoon class," she greeted, "I'm Rose Tyler, I'll be teaching Popular Culture. I suppose by now
you all know how strange weird different Fandom is. You're all either from different universes and/or time periods whatever the case this class will hopefully help ease you in this time period."

She passed the handouts around the class, "Here's the syllabus for this semester, it's not written in stone and may change according to what you feel you need to learn."

Rose grinned, "So, introductions! Or FYI as we call 'em. Begin with your name, time period and what you feel you need to learn about 21st Century  Pop Culture."

"My name is Blackheart," Blackheart said, taking a moment to look around the classroom as though challenging someone to dare suggest that he was calling himself that just to look tougher than he really was. "I'm from the present, but where I'm from is somewhat... well removed from what humans tend to consider as 'culture.'" He scowled. "My father is something of a traditionalist, so I have a bit to catch up on while I'm here."

"1199, that's pretty far from this century, I can only imagine how bad a culture shock it was for you when you first arrived here." She tilted her head, "I've been to the year of our Lord 1059 though."

Faile really wished this class had been offered when she first got here.

"I am called Faile," she said. "I have no idea how my time period compares to my world, but we do not have any of these things that run off of electricity or anything like that. I need to learn everything."

Rose licked her teeth in thought, "Does your world use alchemy? Or another form of powering things?"

"I'm Robin, and I'm from the early 80's." he nodded. "And even though I've done a lot of independent study, I be there's a lot more to learn about what I've missed.

"Well, the 80s isn't such a bad decade," she said, smiling, "but you gotta admit the hairs were crazy." Rose looked at Robin, "Er..."

Rose smiled, she remembered Liz from that one time with the aliens.

"Hello, Liz," Rose said, smiling, "what particular things would you like to learn about our current era?"

"I'm Alec and I'm just from a few years from now," he said, shrugging. "Popular culture's kinda taken a nosedive by then though, and I wasn't really brought up where I could experience it anyway."

Rose blinked at Robin and though she'd seen aliens in all manner of sizes and shape its still something to actually see a talking frog.

"Er," she began, "I don't think so, why is he famous?"
