Construction Site: Friday the 24th, all day

The construction site would be eerily quiet if it weren't for the Best of the Beach Boys playing at this week's typical volume level. The halls and grounds are clean and empty of equipment and supplies, except for a table full of picnic supplies, and a rack of hard-hats standing next to it.

"You know, I think we ended up with a school here," Xander says, managing a grin despite the nearness of the fruitbat who's claiming to be in charge of said school. "Much as we'd like to keep putting you to work, we seem to have run out of it. So for your last day on the job, your assignment is to grab a helmet, sammiches and chips, and take a look at what you helped put back together, because you rocked the house, guys."

The smile vanishes when he adds, "But stay the hell away from the Principal's Office. No matter how trouble-proof you think you might be. Consider that your final safety lecture of the summer."

There's a ~~completely moddable~~ array of picnic-style food and drinks, and the lunch-break pretty much lasts all day.

Okay, so he's not a graduate worker. But he's here anyway, so why not? Having donned his hard hat, Bridge is now hard at work... piling his plate full. Yes.

Bel blinked at Bridge, as the hard hat didn't entirely cover his head and he could see the green hair. "New look?" he said.

"Uh huh," Bridge grins. "Did it last week."

Bel picked up a cheeseburger and dumped a bunch of ketchup on it. "Any particular reason, or just your love of green?"

"Xander suggested it, sort of," Bridge admits.

Bel had to smirk a little at that. "So he's got a green fetish now, huh?"

Bridge? Just turns bright red at that. "Um." So eloquent.

Bel snickered. After a moment, he grew more serious and said, "So, uh, you're staying at the school for next year, right?"

"That's the plan," Bridge says. "Unless I get called back by SPD, anyway." He's got a pretty good feeling he knows what this is about.

"Can I ask you a favor?" Bel said.

"Shoot."

"Can you. . . ." Bel glanced around to make sure Anders wasn't near. "Can you keep an eye on Anders for me? Make sure he doesn't, y'know, be all depressed and stuff?"

Yeah, that was about what he was suspecting.

"Of course," Bridge says seriously. "He's my best friend, and he did the same thing last year when it was me left behind."

Food was good, yes. A growing demon had needs.

And a growing demon had a loving, if hung over (yes, again) boyfriend on hand with lunch for him. Wasn't that nice?

There was also a hung over girlfriend in attendance.

Anders, hangover be damned, pouncetackled Bel.

Phoebe sat on the edge of the picnic table and smiled at the two of them as the snuggles commenced.

Until Cole reached out his hand to her and growled, "Get over here."

As if that wasn't enough motivation, Anders quite shamelessly added a concentrated, pleading puppydog face and held his hand out too.

Phoebe smiled at them both and then moved closer, taking Cole's hand.

. . . and Cole proceeded to (gently) yank her into the snuggle pile.

Since it's the last day of this, Stark is sticking around for lunch instead of disappearing as he usually does. There's not much on the plate, but at least he's eating something.
