Dealing With the Opposite Sex, Class #7, Friday, 2nd Period

Vala wasn't at all downcast as she watched her students arrive in the Danger Room Shop as she'd handwavily notified them to, for the last class of the summer. Really.

"Good morning, everyone. Before we start, I'd like to say how much I've enjoyed teaching you and hope you've found it to be as useful as I'd hoped you would. Also, I know this is a vast area, especially for those of you who may be more inexperienced, so if you ever have any questions, I have two ears and they're both mostly sympathetic. It also turns out I have an office, so you can find me there occasionally as well."

She cleared her throat. "At the end of class, there will be an opportunity to ask for answers to questions that are still bothering you. First, however, I'd like you to attempt a simulated date. No," she glanced at Jeff, "you can't have safety padding this time. But this isn't a high-pressure situation, either. You're just having a nice, quiet dinner in a lovely little bistro with someone whose ship you hijacked you saw on the street, thought looked interesting, and asked to join you. Your job is to make conversation and leave, without getting food dumped on you or a drink thrown in your face."

A fire extinguisher was also in a prominent and visible place next to every romantic candlelit table for two, just in case.

She worried at her lower lip, uncharacteristically solemn. "Now, as I ruin the mood completely, I'd ask you to please stay away from the woman who's squatting in Principal Washburn's office. If she calls you down there, don't go. Don't pull stupid pranks and don't vow eternal revenge. She's very definitely unbalanced and needs professional help. You have teachers--let us take care of the problem, just this once. None of you should be hurt."

"Thank you all for a wonderful class, and I hope you have fun."

Robin hopped up into the chair opposite, and was only barely able to see over the table. "Well this isn't going to work." he said, and hopped up onto the table. "Hi."

"So, I haven't eaten here before, have you?"

Liz shook her head, "this is my first time eating here,"

Re: Date

"Oh good, first time for both of us." Robin bounced. "What sort of foods do you like?"

Re: Date

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2007-08-25 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't have a particular favourite type of food," Liz said.

Re: Date

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-08-25 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"How about music? Any favorite's there?"

Re: Date

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2007-08-25 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
"I like listening to the Beatles,"

Re: Date

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-08-25 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh I love the Beatles." he bounced. "Especially Paul and John."

Re: Date

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2007-08-25 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't have a favourite Beatle," Liz smiled, "but my favourite album is their White Album,"

"Is that the one where there were supposedly subliminal messages?"

Re: Date

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Liz nodded, "yeah that's the one,"

Re: Date

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Have you ever heard them?"

Re: Date

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Liz shook her head, "no, but I haven't really been listening hard enough to hear them,"

"Dr. Honeydew tried to make a record player that would play subliminal messages, but for some reason Beaker went nuts and destroyed it with a sledge hammer."

Re: Date

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Did the record player work before it was destroyed?"

Re: Date

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Well it started playing a Chicago record backwards, but before we could make anything out, that's when Beaker went at it."

Re: Date

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Why did Beaker destroy it?"

Re: Date

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm not sure, I never understand what he's saying."

Re: Date

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
"So he doesn't speak English?"

Re: Date

[identity profile] robinthefrog.livejournal.com 2007-08-26 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"No he speaks...his own language I guess. Dr. Honeydew doesn't seem to have any trouble understanding him though."
