"I mean, if you're reading, I don't want to bother you." He sat down.

"So how have you been? How's the boyfriend? Have you tried the cobbler? I love cobbler."

"I'm just taking up time, Andrew," she said, pushing her journal aside. "I can look at this anytime. I would rather enjoy your company."

Cubbler was good because yes, she tasted it first. "I've been good, thanks. The boyfriend got called into Umbridge's office today. I swear if she hurts him... I might have to get physical with her." Pause. Smile. "The cubbler is great. So tell me how you've been? And by the way, it's nice to see your face again."

Andrew frowned. "I hope she doesn't do anything bad to Dick. If she does, I'm totally down with helping you with the hurt. I was hoping she would be gone by now, but I guess she's got tougher skin than I gave her credit for."

"I've been okay. I've had a lot on my mind lately. Being John was cool and all, but it really made me look like really closely at, well, me."

"She's nasty and I wouldn't want you to get in trouble if I --" Annette paused, looked around, and leaned towards him slightly, whispering, "-- I have a stink bomb. I might be inclinded to use it today."

She took another bite of her cubbler and considered what he said. "Are you all right about that, Andrew? Looking closely at yourself?" She hoped it was with a positive manner that he reflected.

Andrew laughed. "You need to do to that. You HAVE to do it. If you need an alibi, I'm totally there for you."

He thought about her question, "Yeah, I'm fine with it. It's just, well... I like somebody. And back in Sunnydale, I would never have acted on that kind of thing, but here, I think... I think that maybe it's okay if I do."

She giggled. "Thanks Andrew." She knew she was totally going to do it now. Right after lunch.

"Oh, you do?" Annette loved hearing about stuff like this. Liking someone was so much fun. "I think it is totally okay if you do, Andrew. What fun in there in liking someone if you don't let them know?"

"Right." Unless they didn't like you back, but Andrew didn't say that out loud.

"So we never did have that cast part. Or did we and I just managed to miss it?"

Oh, no, Annette was too interested here to not know who he liked. She tilted her head and gave him a look. "So, who's the lucky person, Andrew? Unless, you know, that's private."

She shook her head. "As far as I know, we never did have that party. Unless I wasn't invited." Which would suck.

Andrew gulped. He had already confided in Phale and he had talked about it with Izzy this morning, so it shouldn't be a hard subject to talk about now, right?

"It's, ummm... Not anyone you would know," he lied. Apparently he was still a big baby when it came to sharing his real feelings.

"And we should totally get that party planned. I already miss not getting to hang out with you guys."

"How do you know that? I know a lot of people here, Andrew." Annette managed a small little pout, putting on a bit because he didn't want to tell her. "I'm trustworthy, honest."

She beamed at him. "I miss it too. Someone should talk to A.J. and Troy." But probably not her. Or she could talk to Troy. Okay, she could talk to A.J. too but she hasn't seen him since... the other night... and... yeah.

"Okay, it is someone you know." Andrew couldn't stand the thought that he was upsetting his friends. He'd done enough of that already. "I just don't want to say anything -- don't want to jinx things. If it works out, you'll be the first person I tell." He smiled.

"I can talk to Troy. I'm fine with that. He's a cool guy."

She smiled at him. "I understand the jinx things. Do you know mine and Dick's anniversary is next month? Six months we've been going out. Cool uh?"

Annette liked Andrew. He was so nice.

"We definitely have to have that party, Andrew! We deserve it and I think we need to have some fun!"

"Six months! That's like half a year!" These are the kind of observations Andrew was prone to make. "Are you doing anything special? What's your secret for lasting so long?"

"I know it! But you know what? I liked him way before he actually asked me out. I'm counting that too. So it's really like over six months." She scrunched up her shoulders, gleeful. "Secret? Well, umm... " Right now Dick had a hickey on his neck, that could be a benefit to their relationship; all the loving. But no, she wouldn't mention that. "Dick is so easy to get along with. I want to do something special but I'm not planning anything - maybe he will if he doesn't forget." She frowned. "He kind of forgot to come and watch me perform the other night."

"Oh, well that sucks because you were awesome in that play. Do you know if anyone taped it? I know a few other people that would love to see it."

"I have no idea, Andrew. I would imagine Troy or A.J. was in control of that so if you talk to Troy, just ask him. I would like a copy of it myself to save and to show people."
