Construction Site: Wednesday August 22nd, all day

If you noticed a Xander-less construction site for most of the morning, you weren't imagining things. It took him a while to hop there from MCA.

He really should have called somebody and asked them to put up a sign, but he might be just a little stubborn. Maybe.

There's paintbrushes, there's a grim-faced guy sitting next to the paint-cans looking lazy but he's not, and there's still music playing. Loudly.

He didn't bring doughnuts this time, so you're on your own.

Bridge, on the other hand, did bring doughnuts. Because he had a feeling sugar might be needed if he *had* gone to see Umbridge yesterday.

"Are you okay?" he asks, skipping right past the traditional "hey".

Xander doesn't get up, just waves and forces a smile. "Still breathing."

"You're not standing up," Bridge notes. "Why aren't you standing up? What did she do? Did she hurt you? She's so dead."

Xander makes an attempt to stand up, and... well, he doesn't fall over. Quite. "I'm fine. She locked my legs together. Guessing it'll wear off - everybody else's seems to have."

"Whoa," Bridge reaches out to lend a hand in the whole not-falling-over thing. "Mine wore off overnight. You've been like this since *yesterday*? How did you get home? How did you get *here*?"

Xander rubs the back of his neck, looking slightly sheepish. "Just call me Hopalong Harris."

Bridge just gives him a look and sighs. "You couldn't have at least called a rickshaw cab?"

"Dork," Bridge says affectionately. "Doughnut?" he pulls one out of the box and offers it to Xander.

"Okay, point," Bridge says. "Though she could've done something that'd make you not want to eat anything," he points out.

Xander stares at him for a second, doughnut halfway to his mouth. "See, now that would've been really mean."
