Accelerated Scouting: Week 7 - Tuesday, Period 5

Dale had sent out a notice for everyone to meet at the Danger shop today for their final class.

Upon arriving at the shop, the students will notice that the classroom is decked out in decorations and there is a cake, punch and assorted food available.

"Congratulations," Dale announces. "You've all acheived the rank of Eagle Scout. This is an accomplishment that you all be proud of. Before we dive into the cake and refreshments, I'd like you all to reflect on what you've learned on this experience. After that? We can burn all the uniforms."

A special campfire has been set up just for the occasion.

River looked at the campfire and then at her uniform. "I'd like to feed it to Berthold instead," she told Dale. "Don't want to waste good fabric."

Dean had been planning on doing something similar on his own when this class was over so having it actually be part of the last class was made of all kinds of win.

There was something gleeful in his eyes as he douse his uniform with lighter fluid before tossing it on the fire and watching it go up in bright flames.

John relished the burning of his uniform. "Say goodbye, sock tassels!"

Following Dean's lead, he coated each item with lighter fluid for maximum burn before throwing them one by one into the fire.

River tried to steal the tassels from being coated in lighter fluid. "I can keep them for you. You will thank me later." Yes, she looked completely serious.

River got hold of them just in time. "Why would I thank you?" He peered at her, questioning her motives.

River gave him a wide smile in reply and said: "Time passes quickly. Perspectives changes. Memories become precious."

"And I will cling to the memory of wearing socks with tassels along with my short shorts and neckerchief?" The disbelief in his voice was palpable.

"The future is very unpredictable. Ask Andrew." River still sounded perfectly serious.

John smiled, "Oh? Has he turned into another student?"

"Isn't one enough?" River replied with a grin.

"I would hope so, but you never can tell." John was skeptical.

"As I said, the future is unpredictable." River nodded.

"I think you enjoy confusing me, River," because, yes, John was confused again.

River tried to look innocent. "What makes you think that?"

"Call it a hunch," John smirked.

"Am nice, really." River tried as an excuse.

"Uh huh," John teased. "That's what they all say."

"Am not like everyone else." River now tried looking hurt and insulted.

"None of us are really like anyone else, are we?" John mused, holding back a smile.

Gwynn enjoyed burning the uniform.

Robin rather likes his uniform thank you very much.

Instead of using the campfire that had been set up, Liz decided to burn her uniform using her own fire power.

The lighter fluid seemed like a bit much, but Abigail was happy to set the uniform ablaze on its own.

Naminé beamed. It burned so cheerfully, really.
