How to be a Comic Book Superhero [Monday, 8/19]

The disciples of Bob (and assembled sidekicks) gathered today in the Danger Shop for their final and greatest challenge. Bob was looking a little misty-eyed by the table of Mooby Egg Muffins and orange juice - all superheroes need a balanced breakfast before a good butt-kicking.

Jay was playing with a bong saber at the entrance to the cave which might look suspiciously like that one from the cheesy television series staring Burt Ward and Adam West.

There was no instruction today.

There was only a man with a comically over-sized fist crashing through the wall of the cave and cackling, "I've found your secret stash now!"

Jenny Sparks! With her intrepid sidekick, Michael Flame!

Jenny poked warily at her breakfast as she waited for her sidekick.

~~Ronan~~ Michael Flame eyed the food. "Are we sure it won't eat us?" he asked. "I'm pretty sure I saw something just like it, last time I went through the Crossings."

Jenny finally gave up on her food and defaulted to her usual breakfast: sweet sweet nicotine. "Relax, there's nothing that's ever been alive in that...Michael Flame." Jenny didn't quite snicker. "The masses eat zillions of them every day to no ill effect except tragic weight gain."

Ronan snickered a little; he totally got the jokes that could be made of his name, it was half the reasons he'd picked it. "Powers forbid I gain any weight," he said, smirking. "I'm glad I ate before I came, then."

"You're no fun," Jenny teased, holding out a muffin-thing. "Are you sure you don't want it?"

Ronan laughed and shook his head. "No, I'm good," he said. "Although if they're so good, why not have one yourself?"

Jenny brandished her cigarette. "Got my breakfast, right here. So. What exactly can you do?"

Ronan shrugged, smirking. "Healthy."

Grinning, he continued, "I'm apparently a decent hand at a sword, and I've got a number of offensive and defensive wizardries prepared for today, both damaging and merely incapacitating."

Jenny nodded. "Impressive. I control electricity. You hit 'em high, I'll hit 'em low?"

"Sounds good to me," Ronan said, grinning.

Jenny and Michael Flame's epic battle with Cockknocker lasted approximately 2.7 seconds. Then they went for drinks, leaving a twitching, slightly smoking Cockknocker behind.

The Artist! And trusty sidekick-slash-roommate-slash-similarly artsy minded the Actor!

"Oh, hey," A.J. gave a smile as he stumbled over to talk to...well, talk at Silent Bob after the ~~eventual~~ battle. "Class last week. I missed it because I was a little puppy. My sidekick-slash-roommate can vouch for me."

Sparky!

Ooh. Eggs. Sort of.

A.J. wasn't playing with his food; he was making art out of it, thank you very much, taking apart the Mooby Muffins and making a new construct out of them using plastic forks for constructs as he waited for his sidekick-slash-roommate.

He was going to call it The Body as Temple.

Or just Disgusting.

(But kind of tasty).
