Dealing with the Opposite Sex, Friday, Period 2, Class #5

Vala might have been looking more mischevious than usual today. "Today, you'll be dealing with awkwardness. Not because you're dating someone, but because you're dating someone and you remembered you weren't dead."

"So," she grinned, "I want you to pair up. You've done something with another person that is not the person you're dating. The first person--your significant (or insignificant) other--asks you an innocent question that relates tangentially to the event. Do you lie to cover it up? Pretend it never happened? Tell the truth and hope for the best?"

"Interesting choice to go with the third one, by the way. It's not what I would necessarily recommend, but everyone has their own techniques.'

"Yeah...the truth is probably a good option. The truth, or running away and hiding out for a while until they forget anything happened. Or at least until they stop wanting to hurt you." Demyx paused. "I'm really not very good with people, I've found."

"More likely to forgive you if you're honest with 'em," Chad said, shoulders sinking a little because he hated how much he knew that from personal experience. And then he tilted his head at Demyx. "Why not?"

"I screw up a lot," Demyx admitted. "Say the wrong thing or do the wrong thing, and it just makes everything fall over like a house of cards. Unless Luxord built it, because I think the ones he makes could last through anything short of a direct attack."

Chad nodded as if he totally understood what Demyx was talking about there in that last part. He didn't have any clue. "I do that, too...."

"Yeah, really sucks." Demyx wrinkled his nose. "Anyway, assignment, right!" he flailed a little and then stuck his hands in his pockets. "So, um. Tell them the truth and hope they don't kill you. Yeah?"
