Study Hall -- Wednesday, September 28th

Welcome to Wednesday's study hall. I'm in a considerably better mood than yesterday, which mostly means none of you will be getting set on fire today. I reserve the right to threaten you with it, though. You have no fucking idea how entertaining the looks on your faces are when I do that.

*grins wickedly and takes a drag off her cigarette*

The announcements for today --

-- Biff is missing once again from the front of the teachers lounge. If somebody could find that stupid goddamn bear and drag it back, I'd appreciate it. (I won't be rettaching any limbs you might lose, though. That's your fucking problem, not mine.)

-- After the events of last weekend, I'm thinking of lifting the weapons ban. I'll be opening up a discussion section in the comments for those opposed and those for the weapons ban to hash out any differences they might have, any requests they might have for licensing or policing those who wish to carry their weapons, and any other problems they might wish to discuss.

-- Parents Weekend will take place on October 28th, 29th, and 30th. For the record, you may make one new RPG journal for whichever parent, guardian, relation, or mortal enemy you might wish to bring in for your character. These characters cannot already be enrolled in the school or exist in town, and if you can find someone not already involved in the game to play them just for that weekend, all the better. However, these characters will not be allowed posting access on FH or any related communities, they will only be allowed to comment in designated threads -- open houses for classes, the Halloween dance, etc. They're only here to visit for one weekend, folks -- they won't be hanging in the dorms or taking classes or anything. Also, teachers will be allowed to call parent/teacher conferences with any of their students they might wish to meet with (or any "parent" they might wish to interview ... *snerk*).

(OOC: Also, for the record, I'm not playing John Connor anymore -- I've passed him off to someone else. Now he can get a little more play, the poor antisocial bastard. :))

Angelus sat, stretching himself out so that he was all but horizontal in his chair. "Nothing. Just didn't want to be in the middle of the weapons talk, funny though I do find it."

Marty notices Angelus and gives him a friendly wave.

Angelus notes the wave with interest. He does a small head nod back in greeting.

Marty approaches Angelus with a cold grin on his face.

"Angelus! I haven't talked *directly* with you in quite a bit. Have time to catch up?"

"Quite literally all the time in the world," Angelus replied, matching Marty grin for grin.

Marty sits down to Angelus and gives Belthazor a polite nod.

"I apologize if my little *documentary* ruffled any feathers. I assumed that somebody might have a little sense of humor about it. I just assumed a product such as that fit in well with JA guidelines. Y'know. Large profit. Benefits to the community. Personal Humiliation"

"Gosh, Mar, I didn't know you wanted in JA that badly," Angelus said. "You don't return my phone calls, and your teamwork skills - tsk."

Marty chuckles.

"What is it about you guys that you don't understand the whole 'Lone Gunman' concept? *Lone*. *Lone-gunman* Kind of goes against any idea of getting involved in *teamwork*. "

Marty shudders at the word.

"Plus I haven't gotten around to all my messages just yet. Been a busy week y'know. Got shot. Zombies. Adopting a new pet. If you wanted to get a hold of me Angelus, you only had to knock on my door. I wouldn't have invited you in... but at least we could have cleared up this entire mess without involving *anyone* else."

"What?" Angelus asked. "A guy can't wish his good friend's girlfriend a friendly hello? No need to be jealous. Wasn't trying to poach on your turf. I'm thrilled you two are together."

Marty leans in and gives Angelus a stern look.

"Your friendly *hello* caused all sorts of problems for me Angelus. I thought we had an *agreement* for you not to get involved in my personal affairs."

Marty leans back, a fake smile on his face. "Now I admit I was a little overzealous in my business enterprise, but I think you might have overstepped your bounds a bit. I'd *hate* for anything to happen to you or your friends."

"Know how you keep a secret, Marty?" Angelus folded his arms across the table and leaned in. "Kill yourself, kill the secret-keeper, or kill everyone in the whole world. Now the thing you gotta be asking yourself right now is are you currently dealing with a guy who's going to feel an itchy sense of uncertainty about picking option number three?"

"Oh I don't have to ask that question. I'm sure you'd love to pick option three and throw on some whipped cream and sprinkles on top just for kicks. I just thought we had an agreement that's all."

"We did until you started to get too cocky," Angelus said. "I don't like too cocky, contrary to what those Homecoming posters about me say."

Belthazor grinned and leaned back himself. "Yeah, I find it funny, too. When is the NRA spokesman going to show up to protest for the right to bear arms?"

"Think baring arms is Faithy's campaign," Angelus said. "Or maybe I'm thinking of another of her delectible body parts."

"Oh yeah," Belthazor said, casting a look in Faith's direction. "When do the campaign lapdances start? Because I'm so signing up for one of those."

"Could ask her," Angelus suggested. "You know me: politics just isn't my thing. I can't make heads or tails of it."

"Same here," Belthazor said. "But you're the one who has got me running for VP. I have absolutely no clue what to do."

Angelus looked surprised at that. "You haven't talked to Drac yet? I thought you two were going to run a joint ticket. Respect the cock, tame the - you get the idea."

Belthazor shrugged. "Sorry, been a little...distracted. And I was away all weekend. Draco seems busy with his own little campaign. It's this campaigning crap that I don't understand one bit. Where I come from, it's might makes right and all that. You don't ask people to vote for you. You just take over by right of conquest." He paused, and grinned slyly. "Killing my competition would be my preferred solution, but that might get me in a little trouble."

"No arguments from me," Angelus said. "Though around here a subtle touch is often needed. Personally I'm not even sure how bright an idea it is to have one huge ticket. But it wouldn't be the first time the forcess of goodness have astonished me with how catastrophically stupid they can be."

Angelus put one arm over the back of his chair, thinking. "At the very least we'd need to make sure you don't do anything that overlaps or interferes with Drac. We're agreed on that score, right?"

"Right, right," Belthazor said. "He's got free reign, so long as it's in the JA's interests, but that goes without saying."

"Plus no sense repeating ourselves," Angelus shrugged. "I know he's gone down to The Old Firm to get help. You been down there yet?"
