The Danger Shop was mostly dark when the students arrived. Aly was waiting at the consoles, ready to launch the sequences as soon as everyone was present.

"Morning, everyone," she said with a grin. "Today we're going to talk about something that hasn't come up before in this class. And that would be the physicality of spying. This is something you see in spy movies a lot - especially those of the James Bund and Deathe Subservience variety - and while it's usually greatly overdone in that type of movie, it is a necessary bit to consider. So." She flipped the buttons to set up the programs. "We're going to play with two things today that require not just controlled movement, but also your brain to work and plan ahead how to get through these things. First up, there's a laser maze. Then next, we have a rock climbing wall. Which I totally admit that I've never run into a rock climbing wall while spying, but there have been plenty of times when I've crawled out on a window ledge or had to carefully slip across a roof and the same balance and strength is needed."

She gestured to the two areas. "Hopefully you all got my ~~handwavy~~ note about wearing clothes you can move in, so go ahead and go to. I'm around if you have any questions."

Aly almost sputtered with laughter. "You know? It is terribly sad how few people realise that these days. How lovely that there's a day to celebrate it. I'm so glad it's coming up. I think we all could be reminded of the healthy benefits of affection."

"Affection that she totally couldn't have meant to include in her no-PDA crusade," Rikku said, nodding solemnly. "Because you can hug someone in front of their grandmother. So really, no rule-breaking at all. Just big, warm hugs. You know ..." She dropped her voice conspiratorially. "I think maybe the acting principal hasn't had a good squeezy hug in a while. Just a hunch."

"You are truly sweet, Rikku, to think about such things for our dear old Delores - I mean the acting principal," Aly said. "I think you're probably absolutely right. I think she should get just as many hugs as we can manage."

"I think I should share my heritage with her. And everyone else! Anyone going in or out of her office, really. We Al Bhed know lots of interesting things, and ... I just want to give back, you know?" She sighed happily. "So I'm going to see if people want to help. Hermione's in, isn't that sweet of her? And I thought maybe you'd want to help. So long as we can keep it a surprise, I mean, what's the point in surprise hugs that she's gonna know about?"

"Oh, I don't think the hugs would do nearly so much much good if they weren't a surprise to her. That's a definite necessity," Aly agreed, also seemingly just touched by the possibility of helping Umbridge. "I absolutely would like to help. Couldn't think of anything better. And you know, Deadpool's not teaching right now, but I bet he'd love to participate too. He's such a...huggy person."

"He is," Rikku said with a very serious nod. "Just so darn affectionate! And I'm so glad you want to help! I was really hoping you would. And I kinda hope this experience really lets people know a lot about other cultures. And if it doesn't, well, darn it, hugs are always good just for themselves, yeah?"

She couldn't hold it in any longer and burst out in a peal of laughter. "She's gonna kill us."

Aly laughed too. "Oh, I hope so. Her face will turn purple and she'll probably swell up like a toad."

"Good thing Detention is usually fun," Rikku grinned.

Aly chuckled though she looked more thoughtful. "Could always make it a club activity. I'd sponsor it."

"Oooh, really?" Rikku considered for a minute. "You know, this ... this is probably gonna sound stupid, but ... it might be nice to have something like that, just to have, you know? Just ... hey, it's free hugs day. Not just to tick Umbridge off. Just 'cause ... hugs."

She blushed and scuffed her toes. "Told you it was gonna sound dumb."

She reached out to touch Rikku's shoulder. "It doesn't sound particularly dumb. I rather like the idea. Let even those who don't want to kiss everyone in school have a chance to get a hug."

Rikku smiled. "Yeah. Uh. Some days you just kinda need one, you know? I don't think it ever hurts, anyway."

"Unless you get called a pod person for it," Aly scowled.

"A pod person?" Rikku stared. "Who called you that!??"
