Library [08/02]

A very bouncy Bridge makes it to the library a few minutes early to open it up.

Thankfully, not so bouncy that he spills any of his gigantic size cup of coffee. Because that would be sad.

Bridge spends most of second period sort of absentmindedly cataloguing returns.

And now he's found an interesting book on modern (for this time) rockets and is flipping through it.

Bridge is conspicuously absent during lunch. However, unless you're the librarian or an aide, you wouldn't be in here at lunch anyway, so shouldn't notice a difference.

Now he's deep in thought. Which of course means he's doing a handstand in front of the returns counter.

Last class period of the day, and that meant tidying up as usual.

WTF why have I been awake since 6:30 on my day off?

More to the point, why have you been awake since 6:30 and yet are not on IM!

Invisible ninja brain-garnish, that's why.

"Bridge!" Z said cheerily. The bounciness was probably a bad sign. "You love me, right? Or at least like me?"

"Totally," Bridge says immediately. "Was that ever in doubt?"

"Right, so, you know how we have a kind of crazy temporary principal?" Z winced a little. "I might need you to impersonate me at some point. Not. Not with the skirty bit, I mean," she added quickly.

"Is *that* who's been the announcements these last couple days?" Bridge has only been back since Monday night, see.

"Yes, Principal Washburn had her baby and she's on maternity leave," Z explained, "and how did you not know this? Anyway, she wants to split up all the co-ed rooms, see, so if it becomes an issue--which I'm hoping it won't--you're Z and I'm Bridge." Possibly Bridge shouldn't let Z come up with the brilliant plans any more...

"I was back home for a week," Bridge explains. "Family stuff, for once." He blinks at her. "Does this mean I'm Luke's roommate now?"

"Oh," Z said. "That must have been...nice. No, you're not Luke's roommate. Unless Umbridge asks. In which case you are totally Luke's roommate."

"Well, considering they did not put Xander in jail, I'd agree on the nice thing. Though my mother did wave a knife at him. And, uh. Okay. But you realise that makes you Anders' roommate, which doesn't actually solve your problem? Unless you want to claim you live in 225."

"Oh, Xander went with you? And hell," Z sighed. "I'd gotten the impression from the radio Anders was living with Phoebe and Bel now. This is why I fail at plans."

"It was a whole big meet-the-parents thing," Bridge says, and then looks guilty because hey at least he *has* parents and Z... doesn't. "And he does, but... not officially? I mean, it's still on school records that he rooms with me. But hey, I've got two rooms, you can totally claim that Bridge...t lives in 225."

"Awesome," Z said. "Or! We could skip the mistaken identity thing and I could claim to have already moved into 225 in compliance with her stupid educational decree thingy. For I am a rule-abiding SPD cadet, yes."

"Of course you are," Bridge says with a nod. "As am I." Never mind that time he'd run around without a badge on. Or... yeah.

Z was pretty sure she had Bridge beat all hollow when it came to rule-breaking, though. "Also, this way you don't get busted if she decides to have a problem with my being, you know, a convicted felon."

Bridge frowns at that. "She can't hold that against you! I mean, as far as that goes, that's SPD's jurisdiction, not the school's."

Z shook her head. "You'd be amazed at the things people can and will hold against me, Bridge."
