Phoebe was sitting in front of the class and there was not a happy expression on her face. Of course, the fact that she kept rubbing her head every few minutes was probably why she had an unhappy face on.

“Okay, so between last session and this one, we’ve been discussing how the History of Witchcraft has evolved and changed through time. One of the things that never changes is responsibility and abuses of power. Certain people have always thought that because you have more power than another – or get put into a position of power – then you can feel free to abuse your power at whim. Today’s discussion is going to focus on that. I want each of you to give me an example of someone – historical or modern – who has abused their powers, how they abused these powers, and what has happened to them as a result. “ She looked at her family and then she looked at Eve, smirking at all of them. “And no, using family members as examples is not allowed.”

[[OOC: Extreme SP is our friend since I will not be around until after 3 EST. This was not the lesson I had originally planned, but pain issues make the mun’s head go boom and sob.]]

"The new principal. Jim and I have to go see her so she can split us up into different rooms." Lana didn't even want to think about how scared she was about that. "And I don't know what will happen to her, but..."

"Refuse to do it, Lana. I am."

"Jim's completely wigging out about it," Lana said. "I just don't know what to do. Have you met her? She's... evil."

"I don't need to meet her, I've heard that voice." She gave Lana a reassuring smile. "Don't let her move you. Nod and then stay where you want to be. I'd love to see her try to separate me from where I want to be."

"I told Jim to just move a bunch of his stuff to the room she assigned and then just sleep in the room with me."

Anders chewed on his lip for a while, then frowned and finally spoke up. "I sort of can't believe I'm saying this, but . . . humans. In my world, at least. When they created the Cylons, they planned to use them as servants. They were really intelligent robots, sentient, even, and they did all the dirty and dangerous work like mining and working with hazardous chemicals and things. And then when the Colonies were at war with each other -- this was before the Articles -- they used the Cylons to fight the war for them. Because we created them, so we were their masters. And we created them with the ability to think and feel for themselves . . . but still treated 'em like they couldn't think and feel. So I guess it's not really too much of a surprise that it came back to bite them in the ass when the Cylons decided they had enough and turned on the humans."

He looked troubled, and fiddled with his watch before continuing, "I don't want to sound like a Cylon sympathizer or anything, 'cause I can't ignore the fact that they wiped out hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of people in a war that lasted years, and only ended like twelve or thirteen years before I was born. But I'm just saying . . . if you try and look at it from their point of view . . . yeah, I guess I can see how they could see humans as abusing their power."
