Redemption: What A Crock [Period 6, Monday]

Ares glared at his class. "I hope you all had fun while I was unavoidably detained," he said. "Of course, Mr Casablancas and Mr Jekyll may find things somewhat less enjoyable in detention. Miss Summers, you'll also be joining them, although you really have to tell me, when did you meet Discord? Wells, Sheppard? Nice lists."

"Now today we have something of an interesting situation for you all," he said. "Firstly, divide into Hero and Sidekick pairs. Now once you've paired up, sidekicks, you'll discover something grave has happened. Your hero has gone completely bonkers. Your job is to try figure out what happened and how to fix it. Heroes, just drift in and out of sanity and help or hinder your sidekick as seems fit."

Feel free to mod any Danger Shop generated NPCs you need to figure things out. This (http://www.whoosh.org/epguide/furies.html) might be the slightest bit helpful.

Of course, since the canon solution isn't quite going to work, you'll need to get creative.

If any of the detentionees don't actually want detention, just send them to talk to Ares and he'll come up with something else for them to do instead.

Jeff 'Shirtless' Murdock

Since he had maybe succeeded at the last sidekick/hero assignment so well, Jeff had absolutely no clue who to pair up with. As always, he was looking a little lost about the whole thing.

He was also still only wearing his boxers and socks, the awareness of which he was trying to ruthlessly suppress.

Jeff wasn't so much paying attention as trying to remove some of the slobber from his hair. He'd given up on his bleeding calves a few hours ago.

Henry's jaw dropped. Detention? How could he get detention? He was following an assignment. An assignment given by someone who had nothing at all to do with the class, but still...

Henry looked around for a partner. He'd been listed as a sidekick last time, and didn't mind playing second fiddle.

Henry approached Aries, trying to look full of self-confidence and righteous irritation. All he accomplished was to keep his knees from shaking. "Sir?"

Ares glanced up. "Yes?"

"Eh, I was...eh..." his nerves were not helping at all. "I had hoped that I might...um...contest your decision to give me a detention? Indeed, I was following the assignment given by the substitute." Never mind the fact that Henry seriously doubted the validity of the "substitute's" right to teach...

Ares rubbed his lip thoughtfully. "True enough," he said. "Although I would hope that most substitutes wouldn't ask you to slander a teacher."

Andrew Wells

Andrew couldn't help but stare at Jeff.

Really, Jeff should get extra points for not jumping up and causing complete chaos by fleeing. Instead, he was attempting to reverse-engineer years of being ignored by valiantly repressing a sudden wave of self-consciousness.
