Anakin never bounced. It was undignified. But he was awfully smile-y today.

And no, he wouldn't explain why.

The flight simulator had been reconfigured again--this time to something that should seem a bit more familiar to Earth-based students: The F-16 Flying Falcon.

Anakin clasped his hands behind his back and began speaking. "This is one of the aircraft used by the militaries of this world," he began. "It's good in air-to-air combat as well as air-to-surface attack, can go more than 850 kilometers before it needs to be refueled and can withstand up to nine G's--pretty high tech for this world's standards."

He opened the simulator door and gestured to the controls. "As you can see, it's configured differently than the systems we've been using in the last few weeks, but the joystick and the trigger button are located in the same place. The F-16 just isn't as sensitive as the starfighter--you'll have to yank harder at the joystick to get the same reaction."

The way his lips quirked up made it a little obvious that he wasn't entirely oblivious to the innuendo that might've been found in that statement. "You'll also be dealing with the Earth's gravity, so turns won't be as fast, and if you make the plane go up too quickly, the machine's been equipped to simulate G forces, so you might pass out. That's not exactly what I had in mind for today, so please don't do that," he concluded quickly.

She has coffee, too, and enough cookies for the whole class if someone has a bad flight.

Roxas had a bad flight. A really bad flight.

Dying sucks.

Sam totally grabbed a cookie when we was done.

"Wooo!" Rikku bounced over to Rory, waving excitedly. "I didn't die! Can I have a cookie?"

"Of course! And I didn't even make them, so they're safe," Rory promised, holding out the box.

"Awesome!" Rikku bounced a few more times for good measure. "What do you mean about them being safe? I'm sure you cook great, yeah?"

Because everything was great. That's why.

"No, I cook horribly," she replied, looking amused. "You're in a good mood."

"I'm in a great mood," Rikku said with an eager grin. "How are you? This class is so great!"

Everything. Ever.

"...I'm good," Rory replied, raising an eyebrow. "Sugar? Something else?"

Rikku blushed, and then scuffed her toes and mumbled, "I, uh, I left someone in a hurry, and I'm kinda ... goin' right back, when ... class is over?"

Rory grinned. "Oh, that kind of good mood. Want a cookie for Jude, too, then?"

Rikku giggled, blushing even harder. "Y-yeah, thanks! I, uh, I really love this class, you know? 'Cause ... I, uh, I was tempted to, you know ... but I totally came and on time and everything."

"Go you," Rory said, her smile growing. "He's a good teacher, right? I have a bias."

"He's an awesome teacher," she beamed. "He's also just ... really good with ..."

She chewed her lip a little. "I've, you know, talked to him about ... things, like with Hamlet and ... he's just ... really good for things like that, yeah? I was glad it was ... him I bumped into, 'cause I was all raw and weird and ... wow, I suck at words today, don't I?"

"Words are overrated," Rory commented reassuringly, looking sort of ridiculously proud.

Anakin came up behind her and reached for a cup of coffee, grazing her arm as he did so. "Do I get two cookies?" he asked.

"Why would you get two?" she murmured.

"Because I have two hands?"

Because you think I'm adorable? he added where only she could hear him.

"Everyone has two hands, Anakin."

Yes, but that's why you get kisses.

"But I'm also the instructor," Anakin said. "I think that's good for extra treats."

And extra kisses. Waking up today was lonely.

"You're wrong," she assured him, grinning.

You're the one who said there are no kisses in class....

Anakin wrinkled his nose at her and brushed her arm again as he walked past her.

You are in some serious trouble once they've left.

"Looking forward to it," Rory called after him.

The smile he gave her wasn't entirely for public consumption.
