Thursday arrived on time with a stack of paperwork and a packet of Jolly Ranchers. "Good morning. Does any American fruit-based candy actually taste like fruit?" she asked, frowning at the apple Jolly Rancher.

"I don't think so?" Isabel laughed. "Of course I'm probably not the best person to ask. My taste buds have been warped by an over use of Tabasco."

"That's bound to do some permanent damage. Has the coffee been started yet?" She glanced over at the coffee pot.

"I actually stopped by the Perk. But I'll start a pot," she said, slipping a piece of paper into the book to mark her place and heading over to the point. "I'm glad you're here. Unfortunately I have a letter of resignation for you."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Thursday said, partially because she meant it and partially out of habit. She didn't know Isabel particularly well, but someone leaving was usually a sorry occasion. "Any problems with the job itself or time to move on?"

"No, the job's been great," Isabel replied. "It's just that I'm going back to Roswell, and if things go the way I want them to, I won't be back."

Thursday nodded in understanding. "Do you know when you'll be leaving?"

Isabel nodded, "August 9th. So two weeks from today will be my last day."

"Not rushing out the door then," she smiled, then remembered the paperwork under her arm. "I have a few things to do this morning out the back. Can you please call me when the coffee's ready?"

"No, no rushing. I have a few things to take care of before I go." Like goodbyes. Isabel brushed off the thought and smiled, "How do you like your coffee? I'll bring you a cup when it's done."

"Sugar, lots of milk, thanks. If you happen to see part or all of a plump talking cat, it's nothing important and he's just being a pest. Probably best to ignore him."

The Cat had decided that today would be a wonderful day to wake Thursday up with a stream of nonsense.
