Welcome class.

We will spend this class and next on Pet Care as several of you expressed interest. Of course, I refrain from keeping animals myself ~~because cat hair on the chaise lounge makes Bree go cRaZy~~ but learning pet care is an important part of keep a clean, sanitary, welcoming home.

As they seem to be popular, we'll spend today discussing gremlins.

Did you know there are monkey gremlins? How adorable. But these gremlins, like ours, are not meant for domestication, so if you decide to keep a gremlin as a pet follow these steps.

- They are aggresive and bite! Make sure they have their proper shots, you keep their mouths clean, and that they are secured in another location when you have guests so they don't take off anyone's nose.
- They tend to throw their poo-poo, so cover all valuable furniture and have a mop, bucket, and an economy-sized handle of bleach available at all times.
- Follow leash laws
- They shed. I would suggest shaving your gremlin. If he gets cold, I can knit him a little sweater for you.
- You may have seen those hilarious little smoking chimps at the zoo, but do not give your gremlin cigarettes or he may set you or your hand-crafted curtains on fire.

Feel free to discuss gremlin care with your classmates, and if you'd like to see another animal covered next class, please suggest away! Oh, and take a snickerdoodle before you leave!

*Boone nods, and rubs his palms on his jeans* Maybe it's considered topical because...there's so many of them around here?

Well yeah but I don't really see that it fits into home ec, I'm certainly not planning on keeping one. The fuzzy ones are kinda cute though

Oh, me either. I've never had a pet before, I'm certainly not going to start wth agremlin.

*Paige laughs* That's a wise choice, you probably don't want a pet that can poison you really do you? I think I'll stick with cats, when I have my own place I mean.

*A nod* Yeah. I was thinking cats. A cat, or a dog. *Shrug* Or...you know. Nothing works too.

*Paige frowns slightly* Yeah a dog would be good, but well after getting tattooed by one I think I'd find that sort of wierd

Whoa. Wait a minute. You got tattooed by a dog? *Raised eyebrows*

*Paige suddenly realises maybe she's the only the one who isn't all that freaked out by the different species at the school and in town* Erm yeah, he's a really nice guy, he's bought us drinks and everything. Haven't you been into the town?

Well, yeah. We went to the pub in town. But...I mean, a dog doing tattoos? Isn't that a bit...odd? ~~kind of like a polar bear on a tropical island?~~

*Paige laughs* Yeah I meant other bits of town, and well as far as a tattooing dog being odd, well I've kinda got used to it, with all the wierd people at the school. I guess I'm just hard to shock now

Yeah I guess. it's just...I don't know. Sounds really strange to me.

*Paige looks worried for a second, she reaches over and takes Boone's hand and looks him in the eye*
I probably should have told you this before, but erm I'm not exactly normal either you know

*His eyes flicker, taking in the sight of her* What...do you mean?

*She keeps hold of his hand* ok, I don't want you to freak out Boone, I'm just a normal girl in every other way, but well, *she pauses* I'mawitch *she says it very quickly hoping it'll be easier for him to hear that way*

A witch. *He repeats, and eyes flicker from her to the floor and back again* That's...well, that's cool, I guess. Can you do spells and make things move and stuff?

*All in all, a wich isn't too bad. Not a vampire or a werewolf or...some of the other crazy things running around campus*

*Paige moves a bit closer to him* Well I can't do spells yet, I've read about them, but not tried anything yet, but yeah I can move things. *she bites her lip gently* do you wanna see?

Sure. *Boone smiles*

*Paige smiles back* ok, *she holds out her hands* Boone's pen *instantly the pen turns into blue dots and reappears in Paige's hand, she smiles and hands it back to him* I'm glad you're not worried that I'm a witch

Worried? No. It's...where I come from, witches aren't real. But...yeah. I've been here long enough to realise...a lot of things that aren't real are happening here.

*Paige frowns* didn't you say you were from California, like me?

Yeah. *Scratches his head* It's...I don't know. It doesn't make sense.

[OOC: Gotta jet for a bit...will be back later]

*Paige smiles* I guess we were just scared about how people would react so it's all pretty hidden. I mean I never told anyone until I came here.

Anywhere but here, I dont know how I'd react. But...we were over run with Zombies this weekend. I know there's vampires and wolves and you're not the only witch around. My cyborg teacher is...a cyborg, guess that's why she's so good at the class. So...it's cool. It's just...you know. Weird.
