"No," A.J. shook his head. "I'd...like to. Definitely." He tried a little bit of an encouraging smile. It's not like he expected anything anyway. Not with the thing with Corey, and...well...there'd just be less...dancing....and hips...and...closeness.

A.J. sighed. "Yeah. It was fun. We should do it again. Although, after today, I'm rethinking the work our way up to karaoke thing. I've had enough music for probably a lifetime."

Annette laughed, "Me too. No karaoke for awhile." She liked his smile and it made her feel better, tremendously better.

A.J. looked at Annette thoughtfully for a moment, and then he grinned again.

"So," he said, "know anywhere to get a good pair of earplugs around here?"

"Turtle and Canary," she didn't hesitate. "They sell anything and everything you need. You're one stop shop for quality goods and entertainment."

Uhhh...

"They sell Squishy's too."

"You think these'll work?" A.J. asked, picking up a muzzerelle steeck and waving it at her a bit. "You know, just..." He held it up to the side of his head and moved it slightly, like he was going to shove it in his ear. Even made a squishing sound to imitate how it would sound.

"Ew! A.J. don't! That's...icky." Annette made a face at him. "Stop." She blinked and leaned towards him, whispering, "I think it's quit."

A.J. laughed. "Way to ruin it, Annette. I wasn't really going to do that anyway."

"Ah, crap." She said. "I got to get out of here." She stood up and looked down at him. "Are you coming?" Then she just turned around and walked away, having no idea where she was going at the moment.

"Uh...I guess I'll just catch up with you later, then?" A.J. called out after her, blinking, not knowing where she was going, but hey, he had a lunch to finish.

....A lunch that in a few second might include dancing muzzerella steecks. Not that he'd admit to this.
