Lunch!

Yeah, that was pretty much all Claire was thinking right now. And how much she was craving a Burrito.

So she picked up one of those, and some salad, and found herself a seat bang in the middle of the cafeteria, for high visibility purposes.

Hey, she was still trying to make herself some friends.

River had picked a plate full of a little of everything, and looked around for available seats. She noticed Claire and waved, still managing to balance her tray.

Her eye caught, Claire waved back, gesturing River over.

"Hey!"

Placing her tray opposite Claire, River took a seat. "An improvment to food aboard Serenity," she said, nodding at her plate.

"Is it?" Claire asked, burrito half way to her mouth in both hands. "Yeah, I guess it must be. Spaceship and all. Do you have those dried packet foods?"

"Concentrated protein," River said. "Add flavours." She tried the salad. "This is better."

"Yeah," Claire agreed. "This is pretty good for cafeteria food. How's it going?"

"Good. Had first two classes yesterday. Introdctory but promising. You?"

"Just one," Claire said, eyebrows raised far enough to make her forehead wrinkle. "I'm in it with you."

"The uniforms were odd," River replied. "But I believe it might be a useful class."

"Hopefully," Claire said, wrinkling her nose. "Have to make up for the uniforms, anyway. Hey - when where you going to camp out?"

"Not decided yet," River replied. "Discussed the option of making a new tent construction for that with John. A combination of several separate ones." This clearly seemed interesting to River.

"Yeah?"

It was only sort of interesting to Claire because she had little to offer.

"What kind of things?"

River pulled a drawing pad out of her bag and began to make a quick sketch of her idea for assembling three tents into one big. "Like this," she showed Claire.

"Hey," Claire said, unreasonably surprised, "that's really good. Have you got three tents?"

"I believe the system can be adapted to an number of tents," River replied. "But you would be interested?"

Claire nodded. "Yeah, definitely. I mean, I really don't wanna be camping out on my own."

"Company is better," River agreed.

"Great," Claire said, that being settled. "Let me know when, OK?"
