Study Hall -- Tuesday, September 27th

This is study hall for Tuesday. Anybody who looks even remotely zombie-like is getting set on fire.

Maia comes in just as tired and hands River some coffee. Pulls out a diagram of the DNA code and starts to color it. "Rough night?"

River rubs at her eyes. "Yeah. Just... strange dreams, like the ones I used to have. And then there was all the noise with Cally and Vala, and..." She flexes her hands absently, open and closed, as though making sure they're present. "Cally's hands are very badly hurt... and that pain called to me."

She shakes her head, as though trying to dispel the memory. "It was like being woken from a daze by someone pouring boiling water on your hands."

Maia reaches out softly and takes Rivers hands and turns them over. "You cant shut if off huh? The pain. Just like I cant shut the images off." Maia's thumbs are rubbing softly over River's palms."If that happens again, if it hurts you. Wake me up ok." Maia closes her hands over Rivers.

"Sometimes I can. But it's like trying to hold your breath; I can't do it forever. And when something's that intense..." She shakes her head, then smiles up at Maia. "Thank you. For the sympathy, and the coffee."

Taking a deep breath, she seems to shake off some of her lethargy. "What about you? How are you this morning?"

"I'm good. You know, images cant shut them off." Maia stares off for a moment. Maia offers a weak smile, she is still holding Rivers hands. "It's much better now I've seen you though." She rubs her River's hands once more and then lets them go. She lowers her voice, "I think I upset Sara in class today. I don't know"
