Flight and Flying [Friday, June 29, 2nd period]

When the flight workshop arrived at the shed, they found it locked up tight and Anakin leaning up against it.

"For our last class," he said, "we're going to fly helicopters. The pilot's waiting for us over at Selkie Cove. Come grab a hat--and no, they're not optional--and then we'll head over together."

No, he wasn't going anywhere until they were all wearing stupid hats. He had to find his fun somewhere.

"Hey," Anakin replied with a small smile. "I don't suppose you want a beanie."

"No, thanks. I wouldn't want to have to hurt you," she says lightly.

Anakin snickered. "I could kick your ass while wearing a beanie," he teased.

Pause.

"No, that's not an invitation."

"Are you sure?" she grins. "I'd be willing to let you try with that thing on."

"Tempting," Anakin said, "but I think I'll pass."

He waved his hand and a large flat box floated into his hands. He gave it to Aeryn. "A small thank you gift for being my TA," he said shyly.

"Thank you," she says, and then sees what it is. "There will be a rematch, I swear."

She hasn't seen that China's missing yet.

Anakin gave her a smug smile. "Open it."

She does, and that would be a Look in his direction.

Anakin gave her a cheeky grin. "I'm going to have it framed and put up in my office."

"You have problems," she accuses, but she's laughing.

"Can't a guy rub something in for more than twenty years any more?" Anakin shook his head oh-so-sadly. "Society's going straight down the drain."

"If I'm still on about this in twenty cycles... you'll have been at it for twenty more, so it's still sadder."

Anakin laughed. "We'll be fighting over China in the old folks home."

"You do realize that barring any unfortunate accidents or battle, I will outlive you, right?" she says. "It could become mine by default."

"Well, then that's the only time you'd get it," Anakin decided, "and my blue ghosty Jedi ass'll come back and haunt you about it."

"Oh, perfect, something to look forward to," she says dryly.

"Aeryn..." Anakin said, wiggling his fingers and being, well, not at all ghosty.

Obi-Wan was rolling his eyes somewhere. "...you will always give me back China and declare my superiority in all things strategic over Power Rangers...oooooo..."

"Frell you," she says. "I'll grant you superiority over everyone else who was playing, yes. Except me."

Anakin, with decades of negotiations behind him, chose the highly mature response of slightly hysterical laughter.

"There will be a rematch," she says, holding up the board. "But for now I should be going."

"I'll see you soon," Anakin promised with a small smile.
