Construction Site: Thursday 6/28, all day

In addition to the usual array of tools, lumber, hardhats, goggles and other safety gear at the site, the boombox is back. This time, though, it's broadcasting The Best of the Village People. Because sometimes you just have to play to the stereotype.

Next to the Don't Screw Around On The Job sign, there's a new one that reads Dancing Is Allowed, But Dance Safe. Put Down The Drill And Step Away From The Saw.

"Well, you do keep me up late sometimes," Bel remarked.

Anders harrumphed loudly. "If it's a problem, I can stop," he said, a challenging smirk pulling at the corners of his mouth.

"Ever heard me say stop?" Bel grinned.

Anders laughed. "Not yet, nope. Planning on it any time?"

Bel pretended to ponder this. "Hmm. Not this week."

"Oh, good -- hey!" Anders narrowed his eyes playfully. "I could just take this nice fresh lunch with cupcakes I baked just for you, and go back to the room, you know."

". . . and enjoy the frosting by yourself?" Bel said, unconvinced.

". . . yes," Anders said, entirely unconvincingly.

". . . not the same when you're licking it alone," Bel pointed out.

"Not nearly as much fun," Anders said. "For either of us. So you gonna be nice, then?"

"I'm always nice," Bel insisted.

"I dunno," Anders said, deliberately playing up the reluctance. "Sometimes you can be an evil tease."

"I don't know about that," Bel said. "Maybe you'll have to demonstrate."

Anders snorted and elbowed him. "Oh, eat your lunch before you faint from hunger, you big demon dork."

Bel snickered and picked up a cupcake. Dessert first, of course. "Thank you," he said.

"Brat," Anders said with a slightly exasperated sigh. "You're lucky I love you."

"I say thank you and you call me a brat?" Bel said, mock-offended.

"It's a term of endearment," Anders defended himself. "Really!"

"Mmm hmm," Bel said, swiping his finger in the frosting and wiping it on Anders's nose.

"Hey!" Anders swatted at Bel's hands and blinked, going slightly cross-eyed because of the frosting. "Well, now you have to clean this off."

Bel shrugged and leaned forward and kissed Anders on the nose.

Anders cleared his throat pointedly. "Still frosting on my nose. And now you have frosting on your lips," he said, putting an arm around Bel's neck.

"Then maybe you should do something about that," Bel purred.

Anders licked his lips deliberately and leaned closer to kiss Bel, nibbling delicately at his lips to make sure every last bit of frosting was cleaned away.

. . . and then he ducked his head, and tried to smear the rest of the frosting on his nose over Bel's throat.

"Hey," Bel said mildly. "You're gonna make me all dirty."

"Then I'll just have to clean you up, won't I?" asked Anders just before he trailed his tongue along the smudge of frosting.

"Yes, you will," Bel growled, tilting his neck.

"Shame," Anders said lightly. "I like you when you're dirty."

"Why," Bel complained, "do you always tell me these things when I'm at work? Unless you're hoping I shimmer you behind the bushes or something."

Anders grinned. "Anticipation always makes things more fun, you know."

"True," Bel said. "So what should I anticipate for the end of the day today?"
