Glitter [Thursday, period 2]

When the students arrived in the Danger Shop, they'd find a simulation similar to the campsite. "Hey, guys," Rory said with a wave from where she was perched on a virtual table. "I told you we were going to do this on a bigger scale, and I was serious. I didn't want to mess up the whole campground for real, but you can take any of these," she pointed to the usual array of supplies -- paint, glitter, pipe cleaners, sequins, et cetera -- "and decorate the cabin of your choosing, outside and in. Work in pairs or alone. I don't really care as long as you have fun."

She gave them a bright smile. "And before you go, make sure to grab one of these." She held up a vial of brightly colored glitter, just like the ones they'd been given before. "In case you used up the old stuff. You've been a great class, guys."

Luke wandered over to the fake Platypus cabin with a bucket of paint and three vials of glitter.

He carefully poured them into the bucket, then waved his hand and the entire bucket flung itself at the side of the cabin.

It was a little...avant-garde.

Buffy totally wanted to make Curupira look glittery again, but she paused on her way to look at Luke. "Cool," she said admiringly.

Luke beamed. "Thanks!" he said, waving a small bucket of blue paint over, adding glitter and splooshing it onto the door.

"Could you help me splash glittery paint on my cabin too? I want it to get everywhere." She bounced.

"Sure!" he chirped, picking up another bucket. Oooh. Pink paint. "Which cabin do you want?"

Buffy pointed. "That one! Curupira! It was the one I was in this summer."

"That's the one that turned to glitter, right?" Luke asked. "Neat trick." He peered into the bucket. "Pink paint is okay with you?"

"Pink paint is great," Buffy confirmed. She bounced again. "Yes, it did! I think that might be the best apology ever."

"That was an apology?" Luke repeated as he splashed pink glittery paint all over the cabin. "Wow. What'd they do wrong?"

"He was an ass," Buffy said. "Ronan, I mean. But he apologized awesomely, so it's all good!"

"As long as he was sincere about the apology, there's no reason to hold onto the grudge," Luke agreed with a smile. He tilted his head at the cabin. "Does it need more pink?"

Buffy tilted her head as well. "Maybe some bright yellow? What do you think? It's be sort of light a sunset!"

"That could work," Luke agreed, trotting over to inspect the paints that were left. "How's this one?" he asked, holding up a can of school bus yellow.

It was...really, really bright.

"Hmmmm." Buffy pondered deeply. "Is there any red left? So it can be slightly orange?"

"It looks like it," Luke said, holding up a bucket of red that was as bright as the yellow. "Come over here and mix it up."
