She returned no longer a simple school teacher; she was once again President of the Twelve Colonies. As a result, it was with a bittersweet smile that she greeted her class. "Good afternoon, everyone. I hope you had a restful weekend."

She leaned against the desk, hands at her sides to provide support. "This term, we've explored how history can become distorted...or, in some cases, completely overcome by the legends that arise from actual events. It was my intention to explore the actual histories in a corresponding class this fall. Unfortunately," she continued,"that won't be the case. I've been called back home on business, and I don't know that I'll have the opportunity to return.

"I have enjoyed teaching you, and I hope you've learned at least something during my tenure. I wish you all the best as you continue here, learning and fighting the bad guys." A wry smile twitched upward at the corners of her lips. "I'll be available after class if you wish to discuss any events further.

"Now... get out of here and enjoy the rest of your summer."

Laura waved them off, then turned her attention to the pile of papers behind her. There was a lot to do before she returned to the fleet later that night.

"Professor Roslin," Adam made his way over to her. "I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this class. Thank you for teaching it, it really was worthwhile."

Roslin nodded. "Thank you, Adam. I really appreciate it. With teenagers, it's sometimes hard to gauge how well they're taking in all that you're trying to pass on." She added a smile with this last.

"You're welcome," Adam smiled. He really meant it, too. He'd enjoyed her class immensely.

"I hope you'll be back to teach, if you can that is," Adam understood what it was like to have another commitment.

Pursing her lips, Laura calculated the days remaining in the term she'd assumed. "It'd be at least three years, my time. Gods only know how long it would be here, on the island." She glanced around the classroom. "It's certainly what I love doing. But...responsibilities..."

"Yeah, time certainly passes strangely here," Adam admitted. In some cases, anyway. He nodded, smiling slightly. "You have to take care of those first." He understood.

"In this case... there's no other choice." She gave a rueful smile. "Yes, I suppose anyone here would understand that there are sometimes things that really have to take precedent." She shook her head, remembering some of the stories Professor Harrington had shared. "Even if it is sometimes things like Jello dragons or pudding showers."

"I would hope they do," Adam nodded, agreeing. He chuckled a little. "I still wonder about the Jello dragons."

He'd heard stories of course, but hadn't seen one up close... yet.
