How to Annoy Your Teachers (And Not Get Turned Into Animals) [Week 7, Period 2]

Class was held in the Danger Shop today after John sent out a ~~handwavy~~ email. As the students entered the Danger Shop, they'll notice a more subdued John this time around. Whether it's because his most awesome class is ending or other things is a mystery. If asked, he'd blame the first one.

"Hey guys," he said, smiling. "Last class. Thanks so much for making this class so much fun for me and so annoying for the other teachers. If you've even managed to make a teacher frown in annoyance than my job here is done."

He managed a small smile. "For the last class, I was going to have us all go lob bombs but someone," he said, looking at Sokka, "already did that. So, we're going to annoy someone special."

John grinned. "Hope you guys have had fun. I know I have."

Surprise flickered across her features, "Oh. That...sucks."

"Yes," he said. "Insane and overbearing and completely controlling."

"Is she in a hospital somewhere?" Hey, it was what she would do with the insane. Maybe. Okay, well, she wouldn't be married to one that was for sure.

"Unfortunately, no," he says. "She's at home."

"So you avoid going home? I can understand that completely."

"As much as I can," Wilbur said. "Otherwise, I have to deal with her and that's just no fun."

"I wouldn't know how to deal with the crazy and controlling." Though she did have to deal with her parents a good deal.

"That's perfectly all right," he said. "I don't know how to deal with her either. It's a miracle I haven't just left yet."

"Maybe you should start thinking about your own happiness now," she ventured carefully.

"How do you mean?"

"I mean, you know, maybe you should leave her."

"But, we've been married a long time," Wilbur said.

"Yeah, but if she is insane and controlling, how can you live with that and retain any sort of happiness? Time comes when you've got to re-evalutate your marriage, Wilbur."

"Did you get a doctoral degree when I wasn't looking?"

Annette felt perky, "No. But it sure sounds like it, doesn't it? And are you listening to me?"

"Why should I listen to a mere child?"

"I'm not a child. Are you looking at me good? Do you need glasses?"

"What? What?" Poor Wilbur was confused. "You seem to be a child to me."

"I am a teenager, thank you very much, grandpa," she replied smartly.

"Excuse me?" Wilbur said sharply. "Respect your elders."

"I am. Grandpa is a very respectful title. Usually it is associated with candy. Do you have any? Cause that would be nice."

"You barely even know me and now you're asking for candy from me?" Wilbur boggled.

"Why not? You seem decent even if your wife is insane. We've introduced ourselves and everything. So, do you have any or not?"

"You didn't ask very nicely," Wilbur said, frowning.

"Oh. Pardon me. May I please have some candy?" Annette wondered just how this was going to pan out. He seemed nice. How could she be annoying to nice?
