Language classes, Monday

Good morning, class. I'm glad to see you all survived the weekend. If you are having trouble with residual nightmares feel free to see me during my office hours. Or speak to the school counselor--she's quite good at what she does.

The first in-class presentations will be Friday. I would like three volunteers per class. Remember it needs be only five minutes long.

I would like to do another movie day this Friday as well, but I feel after this weekend my choice of Raise the Red Lantern would be too . . . depressing. So we will be watching the undubbed version of Spirited Away instead. I particularly expect the Asian languages students to attend. The purpose of movie days is to hear your languages in context, so if you're not able to attend it won't affect your grade. But do try to see undubbed foreign films during the semester. It will help.

Your first exams will be in two weeks.

Attendance of this class has been very poor. I may combine this with History of English. I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Remus looks around. He thinks they're both interesting subjects . . . he's not sure about changing his schedule, though.

My schedule's fairly clear. I do your two courses and Library Science. Right now the hours are a little wonky there due to, uh, zombie stew cleanup.
