Construction Site: Tuesday 6/26, all day

No additional fancy new hardhats today, and the work is the same as it was last week: putting up wooden framing for interior walls. Well, what'll eventually be interior walls again once the exterior shows back up.

What is new is there's a CD boombox. Instead of Xander safety-lecturing at them, the workers get music to build by. * Which... might include somebody else safety-lecturing at them, but at least it's funny.

Unsurprisingly, Bridge is here. With lunch from Luke's. And kind of staring at the boombox as it plays Electrical Sexual Approved.

Xander is pretty damned good at looking completely innocent. For a while. "What?"

"Is that workplace appropriate?" Bridge says, gesturing at the boombox with the takeout bag.

"For this workplace?"

"Um, am I asking or are you?" Bridge blinks at Xander.

"Well, for the job of rebuilding the place where I first heard the phrase, 'Dirty?' it's probably workplace-appropriate," Xander suggests.

"Oh," Bridge thinks about that for a moment. "You... may have a point."

"Plus which? There really is no such thing as not-dirty at a construction site. People think I went into this business because I'm good at building stuff? But it was really the fact that it beat out bull-riding and professional wrestling for Most Innuendo-Laden Profession Ever."

"Is that so?" Bridge says. "I think you should give me an example, then." Yes, he's just listened to the song which had plenty of examples. Shhh.

Xander raises an eyebrow, shakes his head, then walks over to his toolbox. He pulls out two screws, one with the threads half-stripped, the other shiny and new, and holds both up in front of Bridge's face. Then he hands the siny one over to Bridge.

"Okay..." Bridge says, taking the aforementioned object.

"I just gave you a good screw."

Bridge just stares at Xander for a few seconds, before he starts snickering.

"I did warn you."

"You did," Bridge agrees. "And clearly, there is only one proper response to that..."

Xander looks at him cautiously. "What?"

"Well. I was thinking I could return the favour. And not just in the sense of giving you this back," he passes the screw back to Xander.

Xander takes it while blinking. "See, now that would be inappropriate for the workplace." He doesn't quite manage not to sound sad about that.

"Which is why I was thinking we'd save that part for later," Bridge says with a nod.

"Ah, a little home carpentry work." Xander nods. "I can check out your drawers for you."

"It shows how truly dedicated you are, taking your work home with you like that," Bridge agrees.

"Well, the handiest thing to have around the house is a man with a tool, right?"

Bridge snickers again. "I'm not disagreeing."

"Unless your house is full of handy lesbians; then they usually have their own tools."

"...But that's not your house. Unless you have roommates you've never told me about. Very quiet roommates."
