Construction Site: Wednesday, 6/6

Today, the guys from NPC Construction have a large crane - yeah, that must've been a sight coming across the causeway - set up, working on some of the collapsed upper levels.

"If I didn't mention stay away from the big equipment before?" Xander says. "Which I did? This would be me mentioning it today. If you're not invulnerable or already dead, getting hit in the head with a wrecking-ball doesn't make for the best work-day. And even if you are, it packs a pretty big headache. Which can actually be useful if you're fighting an invulnerable demon or say, a hellgod? But we're not. So. Stick to the safety areas."

Today, there's still bricks and mortar out, and plans for which walls need partial re-building are laid out on a table near the marked-off safety area.

For workers and their guests. There might be another pile of Twinkies. Xander kind of prepared a lot for the scavenger hunt kids yesterday.

Back to work!

Some picnic tables are set up a safe distance away from both graduate and NPC workers, for the visual appreciation of same.

In between helping with the actual physical work, he's poking at a couple of safety websites on his laptop, looking for some good tutorials.

Damn you, prevent-it.ca, for your flash-based workplace safety vids re hilarious and impossible to link to. Rarrr.

There's Bridge, there's coffee, there's takeout from Ching Tai. What? Iced coffee totally goes with Chinese food.

Conner and his pink hard hat spent a good half hour or so poring over the plans before setting to with the bricks and mortar.

Had he been wearing a yellow hard hat, it might have taken him 45 minutes.

Maybe pink stimulates his brain. Shhhhhh.

And there, with binoculars (even if they weren't necessary) and plenty of snacks, was Anders, intent on the visual appreciation of one specific graduate worker.

. . . he still had the spiked collar on.

"Don't make me sing the song." Xander hums Wind Beneath My Wings.

Oh hey, here is Gwynn. She's sitting on the table watching a certain graduate, too.

Anders raised an eyebrow at her in lazy curiosity. "Please tell me you're not looking at my boyfriend."

Back to pink hard hats and bricklaying! Back to afternoon shirtlessness!

Back to the side of the graduate work area that Bel isn't on, too!

Gwynn blinked at him. As there was only guy out there worth looking at, she of course had the obvious conclusion.

"No, I am looking at my boyfriend."

That was not a note of possessiveness at all.

"I like singing," Bridge mock-pouts.

Bel eyed the wrecking ball, wondering if he could take it.

Bridge is not here to visually appreciate *any* of the graduate workers. Well, okay, technically the person he's here for was also a graduate, but not a recent one.

Bel snagged a twinkie and looked around for a girl- and/or boyfriend.

Funny, as far as Anders was concerned there was only one guy out there worth looking at too, so he had reached the same conclusion, only with a different guy.

"Oh," he said, a faint note of distaste in his voice. "Him."

Yes, Anders, provoke the girl who can hurt you in a number of ways.

Bel may have tossed a brick in his hand, glancing in Conner's direction.

A Gatorade-toting, collar-wearing boyfriend, perhaps? The one who was heading his way?

Especially since if Conner couldn't see her getting into a fight, he couldn't get worried about her being hurt again.

Gwynn narrowed her eyes. "I hope that you just not levy an insult on jhim, sir."

Alas, she was quite sure he had by the tone of his voice.

Bel grinned as he saw Anders heading his way. "Nice," he said.

"Not that song. It'll get stuck in my head forever." ...yeah, too late.

Phoebe was there soon after with the familiar large picnic basket.
