fandomhigh | Construction Site [Wednesday]

Fraser was beginning to enjoy the sounds of bulldozers in the morning. It wasn't the quiet of Canada but there was something...enjoyable about heavy machinery. He really couldn't explain it. The hard hats (pink and yellow) are gleaming in the sun and, oddly enough, the pink hard hat might have Conner's name on it. No idea how that got there. There are also tool belts for the students to wear.

"Good morning," Fraser greeted. "Everything is proceeding along schedule and I'm proud to say that you've all done excellent work since we started. I thank you for devoting your time and energy to this reconstruction effort."

He paused as bulldozer roared behind him. Fraser waved at the driver, having gotten to know him since the start of the project.

"Let's keep up the work today," he said, "and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to come find me. If I'm currently fighting with a married man when you come find me, feel free to yell at him to get off of me." A pause. "Not dirty," he added.

Anders showed up a few minutes later, having made a detour to get chocolate to go along with the drinks he'd brought.

Phoebe smiled at him when he showed up.

For that, Anders had an answering grin and a kiss for her, should she choose to accept the latter. "Picnic blanket time after lunch again?"

Phoebe, of course, accepted the kiss.

"Definitely. It's a nice day to lay out to rest."

"I'm a big fan of resting. Tired of not being healed up yet." Bit of frustration in his voice there? Why, yes.

"I feel the same way, sweetie," Phoebe sadly.

"At least we can suffer together instead of alone," Anders intoned melodramatically.

Phoebe nodded and leaned against him. "I'm sick of this being hurt thing."

Anders slipped an arm around her waist carefully. "We all are, yeah. But we're just gonna have to deal, right? The stitches can come out in a week, and then we'll be on our way."

"I miss being able to do stuff with you guys and I hate the fact that me being so hurt is interfering with you guys." She looked down at the table.

Yeah, she was feeling guilt that the boys were frustrated.

"Hey." Anders reached out and put a finger under her chin gently in an attempt to turn her face toward him. "I miss it too, believe me. But mostly I care about you getting healed up. We'll . . . find ways. Figure something out. We will, okay?"

"I guess," she mumbled.

"Aw, no. Don't look all sad, please?" he asked, kissing her softly. "Anything I can do to cheer you up?"

"If I didn't know better," Bel said, eyeing the chocolate, "I'd think you two were trying to fatten me up."

"No danger of that," Anders replied, casting a pointed look at Bel's chest and stomach. "What, we're not allowed to pamper you a little after a hard morning's work?"

Nothing to do with chocolate's purported aphrodisiac properties, either. Nope. Not at all.

Bel smirked. "You need to bring pillows and fans next time then," he said.

"Like hell we do," Anders snorted. "That's for the end of the day."

"Do I get a bath, too?" Bel said, batting his eyes.

"Only if you want to get malleted," Anders said sweetly.

"Aww, why not, I've been taking care of you 'cause of your stitches," Bel said.

Anders grinned and blew a kiss at him. "Shimmer us back to the dorms later and maybe we'll see what we can do about that."

"I'll be sure to get extra dirty today then," Bel smirked.

"Mmm, shirtlessness will definitely help with that." Anders punctuated the rather . . . pointed statement by licking his lips briefly.

Bel shrugged, and since the sun was bright and overhead, he pulled his t-shirt over his head.

Anders was not complaining in the least about this eyeful, no sir.

"You have a guaranteed audience for the afternoon."
