There was a less than pleased and non-bouncy Deadpool waiting for the kids in the Danger Shope, because he had totally remembered to tell them to meet him there.

Okay, so not really, but he did leave a nice note telling them to get over there instead of their usual spot at the main campfire.

"First of all, it seems there was a wee bit of confusion over the assignment from last week," He said, glaring pointedly at a certain boy with a ponytail that was not a wolf tail and he really needed to accept that fact and move on with his life. Oh wait... he wasn't going to have one after Deadpool got done with him. "There is to be no maiming or injuring of Aly because that causes her to stab me in the kidney, and that makes me cranky. And a cranky me means I'm going to take this out on all of you kiddies!"

He grinned and held up a pair of escrima sticks. "Fighting practice today. Pick your weapon and we'll see what you're made of." Pause. "And I hope it isn't pie because that would be both messy and disturbing as then we would have to eat the pie that you are made of and that's cannibalism."

He should add something to that.

"And that only works for soccer teams in the Andes, not for high school students while they're off camping in a disturbingly familiar cliche for horror movies type environment."

Yup, that covered all the bases on that subject.

"So! One on one spar with me. Or my other lil' T.A., Setsuna because we've fought before already and know each other's tricks already." He grinned and looked over at Alec. "Not!Wolverine T.A., on the other hand, is new and exciting and yay for genetic enhancements in a fight!"

There was logic there, really.

"Now, if things get out of hand with Setsuna and any of you, I will intervene and it will not be fun for you. But I doubt that'll happen, she's good." There was a small bounce at that. "Now, are you kids ready to go?"

Giant people. Always the same with the kicking.

Deadpool jumped and clung to her shin, smacking her knee with the escrima stick. "You know, this brings back memories."

"Ow!" Cassie said, reaching down to try and smack him off. "What memories?"

That would only lead to more smacking with his sticks.

"Oh, you know. Back when I was hired to do stuff to the Avengers. Like kidnap that panther." He sighed. "Fun times, fun times."

Cassie started shaking her leg violently, hoping to buck him off. "I hate you!"

And buck him off she did. He landed in a crouch, frowning up at the big maybe redeemable antgirl.

"You know, if I were a lesser man, it might hurt to hear things like that."

"You're not even a man," Cassie said, trying to kick him again. "You're an animal!"

"HEY!" Deadpool shouted, dashing forward and hitting Cassie's achilles tendon hard. "You haven't even seen me act like an animal yet, trust me. If you did, you wouldn't still be alive and angsty," He hissed up at her.

Cassie howled in pain. "You'd be doing me a favor!" she spat.

And now the giant Cassie was shrinking.

And crying.

(God damn angsty teen and their hip WB-esc drama.)

"There's no crying in fighting!" Deadpool whined. "Or baseball, but mostly fighting!"

Cassie gritted her teeth again and stopped shrinking. She then went simply to try and bitchsmack Deadpool across the room, but her aim was probably off due to the tears.

He ducked and darted around to get behind her. "Crying won't help in a fight you know. That would assume your opponent has sympathy for your horrible, tragic backstory."

Cassie growled a little, and then just tried to fall over backwards onto Deadpool, since he'd gotten around her so easily.

Deadpool blinked up at her. (Oh, this is going to hurt, isn't it?)

And then he was proved right. It did hurt. A lot.

"I hate Avengers."

Cassie grew just a little bit more. "Told you I don't need weapons."

What he said was "I'm going to stab you." But it sounded more like "Murfle murr."

He really hated Avengers when he wasn't allowed to use real weapons.

That's okay. Cassie hated him too, so it was all good.

"I win, right? So I... guess I should get up now?"

(I HATE AVENGERS)

More muffled talking. He was going to go find his gun and then he was doing his best darn impersonation of Thor.

Cassie stood up. "Was nice beating you," she said, wiping her eyes as she shrunk to normal size."

"You do know that getting big doesn't always help you in a fight, right? That if someone really wants to kill you, you'll end up in that lovely giant grave no matter how much of those kooky Pym particles you have bouncing around in your system."

It was important that she knew, even if he was technically a villain and she was technically the hero.

"I know when to run," Cassie said. "And unlike you, I have friends to watch my back."

That very well might have hit a nerve.

"Stay in the business a little longer and then tell me how useful friends are."

"I will," Cassie said.
