When the students arrived at the flight shed, they'd immediately notice that the sim had been completely reconfigured.

A couple of them would find the new shape very familiar.

"This is an X-Wing starfighter," Anakin said with a smile. "Today we're going to practice flying in a zero-g environment."

He waved at the door and Artoo rolled into the shed and tweetled politely, then came over to the sim and plugged himself into the droid-shaped hole on the back of the sim. "This is Artoo," Anakin, smiling. "He's your co-pilot of sorts who can get to mechanical problems while you're flying. For example, fixing shields that have been damaged by laser fire. He'll also scream at you if he thinks you're going too fast."

Anakin had learned to ignore that sound early.

He pointed into the inside of the cockpit. "There are a lot more controls in the X-Wing than the podracer, obviously. Here you need to regulate atmosphere, gauge fuel and weapons' levels, as well as communications, landing gear and assorted other bells and whistles."

He smiled at them. "But don't worry too much--you're not going to be tested on this." He sat in the cockpit and ~~handwavily~~ showed them how to make the ship speed up, slow down, turn and spin. "Obviously, this moves much faster than the podracer," he said, "and the sim has been programmed with the grav you'd have in your cockpit, so if you spin yourself too fast, you will make yourself sick. And then you will be cleaning out the sim."

Anakin clasped his hands together. "Okay. You'll each get a chance to try the sim out to learn how it works. You'll be in a program set way out in space so there's nothing for you to hit if you can't figure out how to steer right away and stuff. Once you feel more comfortable, there'll be a choice of two courses to run through--one that's strictly testing you on mobility, the other than also allows you to use the laser cannons."

He gave Luke, Gavin and Jaina a cocky smile. "Before you came in, I set a new record on the sim for time and accuracy. See if you can come close."

"New York is great and the pizza just as much," Johnny chuckled. "Tell Peter he better show you around too, not just feed you full of pizza."

He had to laugh at her witty sensibility, "Okay, okay, you're right. The classes are fun and no, my previous school taught your basics. And I guess it's not everyday that you meet someone in the park who glitters you up and tries to make you invisible for an audience only he can see."

Johnny raised a brow, "That's a nifty little trick. Are there people who actually have you do this for them?"

Isabel laughed and glanced at Gavin and Luke. "Yeah, that was quite a show. I think they've learned to run from the gremlins now."

"It's a useful trick," she nodded. "And I use it more for self-protection then anything else. Back home it was more about finding out what the sheriff suspected about us and if he was going to turn us in. Here? Well it helped me find out that a friend was possessed by the Source of All Evil. So you don't have to worry. As a rule, I won't go dancing through your dreams. Unless I'm invited."

Johnny chuckled, "It was funny, I'll have to admit. Though probably not so much if it happened to me."

Wouldn't it be nifty if he could see into dreams. Specifically a girl or two. That'd be pretty cool. "I might think about it," he said grinning. "Can you make yourself known in a persons dream?"

"That's the rule. It's always funny. As long as it's happening to someone else."

Isabel raised an eyebrow. "I can if I want to. Why do you have interesting dreams?"

"I like that rule, Isabel. I like it very much."

He shrugged a shoulder, grinning, "I don't know. I can't much remember them. Which almost makes me believe that no, I don't."

"Well boring dreams are better then nightmares," she said, knowing that for a fact. "But maybe I'll have to stop by one night and liven things up."

"Haven't had a nightmare yet. I would have thought so, considering -" he said, thinking about boykissing and glitter and that it was so farfetched to actually be believable.

"Oh, by all means, Isabel. Come over and get in my head. I might like it."

Isabel grinned. "I don't know. The thing is, I only see what your subconcious puts out, so I could wind up finding out some of your deep dark secrets."

His brows shot upwards, "Oh." Johnny wondered if he had any deep dark secrets. He didn't think so. But you just never knew. "That could work for me. I don't know these deep dark secrets myself. Maybe you could ferret them out for me."

"Or I could find out which of your dates feature prominently in your dreams. And how they do," she said. "Which might wind up being way to much information."

"Ah, on second thought, maybe not a good idea." He did kiss Charlie Wednesday night, a nice kiss, a...

"Right, well, how did you do on the starfighter?"

Isabel laughed, amused at the segue. "I did okay and only crashed once in the asteroid field."

Johnny decided then and there that he liked Isabel's laugh, it was contagious and sweet sounding, "Are you amusing yourself with this class or do you want to learn to fly for a specific reason?"

"Actually I picked my workshops out of a hat," she admitted. "Well except for the Stupid People one, because I love Professor Lyman's classes. So that was a definite."

He laughed, "I believe I am really liking Professor Lyman too." Shaking his head, he said, "This week with the help line? It was hilarious."

"Rikku called and got me. I pretended I was the Butterball hotline."

"Good one! I got some guy that wanted relationship advice," he grinned. "And I gave it to him."

"Oh? What sort of advice?" she asked, wondering if she'd be able to figure out who it was.

Johnny looked at Isabel and considered just how frank to be with her. Hey, girls could be touchy on such subjects. "Seems he married a guy."

Isabel laughed. "Was glitter involved?"

"I...don't know. I didn't think to ask. Why? Don't tell me it's true, Isabel. Because I was glittered up and there was no boykissy. Whatsoever."

"It just means the right person wasn't around. If the right guy is there, boy kissy will happen," she said seriously. "Obviously Sigfried and Roy weren't for you."

"You mean there is a certain guy for me?" Johnny was going to have to rethink this glitter thing. He just didn't get it.

"Could be," Isabel said. "You have to leave yourself open to the possibilities. And if there's one thing Fandom's good for? It's possibilities."

He ran his hand back through his hair. "Possibilities. All right, Isabel. I'll keep myself open." Or at least he thought he would.
