Construction Site [Wednesday - All Day]

The construction site has tools, belts, and hardhats today, just like before. It does not have a hot mountie.

It does have a sign in big block letters, saying

SORRY, NO HOT MOUNTIE TODAY.

It also has an alternate color option for those who are tired of yellow hard hats.

Of course, the option is pink...

"Same deal as yesterday, folks," Xander says, having got the rundown from Fraser. "Move, stack, avoid the big yellow metal things with treads. Eat the tiny yellow spongy things with no treads - those are called twinkies. Don't build with them.

There's some drywall to hang in that section of the faculty offices that's mostly just crispy and not actually sploded. Yell if you need any help. Or if the big yellow metal things with treads start transforming into giant robots and firing laser pistols at you. I hate when that happens."

Pink is close to red, right?

Open for the workers and their visitors. There are little yellow spongy things available. Don't build with them. Well, you can build weetiny cabins on the tables with them. Just don't actually incorporate them into the school architecture.

Back to work! No, you may not plaster cracks in the walls with twinkie filling. It flakes when it dries. Not that Xander has tried that.

For purely academic purposes, clearly. A safe distance away from the actual site but close enough to see without binoculars.

He is working. Not ogling. RLY.

Because risking the destruction of the universe while attempting to rebuild the school is.... ironically not too far from canon, but shhh.

Willow, complete with pink hardhat, was there for lunch. Complete with two lunchbags.

Considering the similarity to one of these, Xander would be on the phone to every magicy-type on the island in two minutes. "PLZ TO BE MAKING THIS NOT OPEN EVAR KTHX"

. . . wow, I'm actually like really disturbed that there's that much of a similarity between Ivan Ooze's hyperlock chamber and the Seal of Danzalthar.

Bridge stops by around lunch too ~~he just can't ping as fast as a certain redhead~~. And is maybe trying to hide the fact that *he'd* brought a lunch for Xander as well.

Not close enough for Conner, sadly. But he'd made up for it somehow by dyeing his jeans red.

Of course, he was stacking Twinkies for twenty minutes before he realized what he was doing -- which he blamed on now being paranoid about the construction machines actually transforming into giant robots.

"Very fetching," Xander said. Of the hardhat, not the lunch.

Willow smiled. "Thank you. I brought lunch!"

Because what, Xander isn't capable of eating two lunches? He raises an eyebrow at Bridge.

"Hi, person who doesn't have anything in their hands at all."

"I have... twinkies!" Xander offered in exchange. Actually he had a ham and cheese sandwich too, but why tarnish his image.

"Yay trading!" Willow said. "It's just like when we were kids, only now we're older and know about the things that adults used to say we'd understand when we were older. Though I still don't know how bees factor into it."

"Hi, person who is describing me accurately because I certainly don't," he cracks a little smile at that though.

"Painfully, I'd guess. For those people who actually factor bees into it."

"See, that's what I thought too," Willow said. "Stingers! They are not named after a sensation that's happy."

"Would you like a twinkie so that you can have something in your accurately-empty hands?"

"Well, maybe if they were made with vodka."

"Have you been drinking again?" Willow asked. "Because you're not supposed to do that near heavy machinery."

"I could use the sugar," Bridge admits. He hasn't had the best of mornings. There's a distinct lack of bounciness that pretty much gives this away.

"Dammit, I knew there was something I missed that ~~month~~ day I ditched ~~almost everything~~ Equipment Safety to ~~wallow about not being able to contact FH~~ fight Snorflorgs."
