Interdisciplinary Studies or whatever, Wednesday, Period 5
In front of the campfire was a large green blackboard. And in front of the chalkboard was Squall.
"Okay," he said, once everyone was seated. "My name is Squall Leonhart" -- here he paused to write "Squall Leonhart" on the chalkboard and underlined it. "And this is Interdiciplinary Studies or whatever" -- he wrote "Interd~~ S." on the board. "And I don't care what your names are. Here." He pulled a clipboard with the class roster on it out of his desk and tossed it to the first student. "Pass that around. Put an X by your name. If your name's not on that list, leave. If your name doesn't have an X by the end of class, you get detention."
He stretched and scratched the back of his neck.
"But I'm sure you care what your names are, so why don't you do the whole touchy-feely thing of going around and telling everyone your name and something you like. And, I dunno. Your favorite kind of animal or something. Go on." He pointed at the kid he had tossed the clipboard to. "You. Start."
(That'll kill some time, right? The more they talk, the less I have to.)
Squall paced back and forth while everyone rattled off crap about themselves, and then stood back up at the chackboard.
"So. I know stuff; you don't. In this class, I'm going to teach you stuff. Important stuff. Or whatever. Stuff you should probably know by now, but a lot of you don't. I've got stuff planned, a whole syllabus and things, but we've only got a few weeks together. So."
He looked around.
"What do YOU want to learn? Go on, don't be shy. Anything. Tell me. And if your suggestions don't suck, I'll see about adding them in."
After that mess was over with, he held up his hands. "Okay, kids. So. Now it's time for your first lesson. This is a quick one, but it's the most important one you'll ever learn."
He folded his arms and looked each of them in the eye before going on.
"Trust. All of you will end up in situations where you need to trust people. Trust them to do something, say whatever, be your friend, get your back in a fight, you know. And you can trust most people with the little things, and you can trust most people to follow orders. But what I want you to tell me is, with the BIG things, the important things, the REAL things..."
He looked around at the students.
"Who can you trust?"
[Wait for OCD or whatever OCD UP. Posted early because I bed soon and work tomorrow]

After a moment, he added, "Basic self-defense is on the list, though. Have fun with that."

Squall blinked at her.
"I think you've got me mixed up with someone else."

"Tightrope walking," he decided at last. Learning another entertaining skill couldn't hurt.

"I want to learn how to play Parcheesie."He thought about it for a second.
"Uh, I guess it'd be useful to learn swordfighting," he says, agreeing with Setsuna. "But I want to learn how to be quiet, sneaky."
Roxas wants to be a NINJA WHEN HE GROWS UP. So he can get up in the morning without waking everyone else in the house or the cabin or the school. Or possibly the world.

Hmm... Breaking and entering wasn't on the list yet. Should it be?
